Ammo resupply explosions

Destroying a ammo resupply asset like a bunker, supply crate and weapon cache should result in aftermath burning explosions that could be lethal to surrounding soldiers for a while. Not just for graphic and sound but this would make placing the assets more strategical.
The problem then comes up for bunkers, firebases and command posts as they can be rebuilt. Solutions? You could still be able to rebuilt them while they burn but you will be at risk because of the explosions or introduce some kind of fire extinguisher to put down the fire.

a nice idea but is this more 'Flavour' rather than something that is actually needed within the game when compared to other elements.

Bah! I want more secondaries! More Lethal Explosions! (similar to vehicles blowing up... but dumb the vehicle explosions down a bit and up the outpost/com.post/supply crate explosions. At least make it a random chance... if there are so many bullets in there, it should make a fairly large explosion... like the Exploding Barrels. Except more like C4.

Doubly so if someone tosses a Molotov on it... talk about area denial... it burns and explodes every couple seconds...

Actually this is a pretty good idea. This would make a supply box both a useful provider of ammunition and a potential hazard. Someone hiding behind a box loaded with ammunition should be seriously hurt or even killed by the secondary explosions caused by another player shooting it.

Imagine all the tricks you do too. Drop a supply box in the middle of the road where you expect an AT man or something to resupply on, then shoot the box up with small arms and watch the player get smoked.

Really original idea here.

Like the idea. Maybe just stick with an initial explosion though... Either way, it would add more realism to the situation (and fun).

This reminds me exactly of the video of Farcry 2 when the guy shoots an 'ammo crate' and it blows up.

problem with doing this with supply crate is it also explodes when it runs out of ammo.... so its dumb to kill a player who is getting ammo when the ammo happens to run out, he explodes and dies

maybe not ammo crates...but fb's and bunkers would be nice....its not possible to like make teh ammo crate slowly disapear (like a dead body) when it runs out of ammo and explode when destroyed....(but tahts means asH hats like wumwuts will have a bomb in the back ofa command truck)....but nvm taht its still a good idea
