I just hope the changes dont make it even more difficult to get a rally during a public game than it already is...

Last time i checked, PR isnt a fast paced game. And you guys shouldnt complain about things that arent even in-game yet. You dont even know how this would work, all you got was a wink from a DEV. Have some faith The DEV aint stupid

And last time I checked, PR isn't a reality sim. It will always be a mix of fast paced gameplay and reality because you can't change the BF2 engine to something it isn't.

And we had this ingame before already, which is why the ones who experienced it are against it. It didn't work.

It didn't work because of other bugs in the code in 0.6 beta, nothing related to that particular idea.

And you don't know all the other changes we have planned, so chill out.

In seriousness, I reserve judgement from the time being, but I still don't like the sound of it.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

There was also a delay in a past patch (intended or not) which I believe could be considered similar to the change the OP is suggesting and it didn't end up working.

If an enemy takes out our RP while defending a flag, we move immediately to another spot to put an RP which takes about 30 seconds. So you are saying we should wait the other 2:30 minutes to place an RP instead of defending a flag? 3 Minutes sounds like nothing, but we all know how long 5 minutes waiting for another kit is and that is only a 2 minute difference.
I suggested a 1-3 minute delay for the exact reason that I wasn't sure how long it should be, 30 seconds in your scenario is acceptable to me, especially when you are unlikely to take only 30 seconds getting into position.

It would take a minute at most tp get a new RP down, so those other 1-2 minutes are pretty much wasted.

IMO, if a squad has their RP taken out, that is punishment enough. They are already pretty much pushed back and have to regroup and get down another or just walk from their main or firebase/bunker.

And if a SL survives, than the attacking squad should hunt them down and take them out to make sure that they do not get up a new RP. In real life, no army would just let straglers wounder off, they would hunt them down and kill or capture them. That is already how it is ingame and is pretty good IMO.

Yes, everyone has a fairly equal shot of being shot at an RP, including the SL, which makes a delay bad because when you respawn in 30 seconds and than walk 30 seconds to a spot to put an RP, you than have to wait another 1-2 minutes under what you are suggesting which seems like forever.

Did i say that PR is a military sim...? Sometimes reading before responding actually helps.

And may i ask you how the hell do you know how this will get implemented? Like i said, all you got was a wink from a DEV. So wait for 0.8, try it out and then you can whine your ass off if you want.
