BF2 engine doesn't allow the same type of scopes as crysis does.
I mean when zoomed in the surroundings are zoomed too, not only what you see in the scope. Thats why we have the black around it. Kinda unrealistic i know... |

Locking due to: already suggested, hard-coded, not realistic, used to be in but was taken out due to realism and gameplay concerns.
