Challenger 2 MBT

Having a little trouble organizing my thoughts here, so bear with me.

A couple weeks ago, I read that only one M1 Abrams has gone down in Iraq. I just read that only 2 C2s have gone down in Iraq. The only C2 to be completely destroyed was due to a "blue-on-blue" incident. One C2 operating out of Basra took over 70 RPG hits. The crew was unharmed. So if the game is striving for realism, a MBT should never "blow up".

Currently, the C2 will accept a lot of damage without flinching. There is no excuse to lose a C2, unless there was a coordinated simultaneous attack and no Command Post.

Here comes the suggestion:
In game the C2s should never be completely destroyed. Give the tanks X hit points. At X-Y the turret becomes in operable (simulating a broken sight). At X-Z the tank becomes immobile (simulating the tank throwing its tracks) and the ten tickets are removed from the British tally. The crew remains in the tank unharmed, but if you get out you cannot get back in.

So if the tank does not blow up, stays eternally damaged there, how will it respawn so you can get a new one?

This is still game

Would be kinda unrealistic, coz you can repair the tank, and use it again. IRL, when a tank is that damaged its usually beyond repair.

EDIT: Good point Outlawz

Outlawz; I'm not sure how to get around that. The simplest way would be to have a new one spawn every 45 minutes. There is no excuse to lose a C2, so I don't think an hour is unreasonable.

Wah wah, Thats not true at all. As I stated only 2 MBTs have been damaged beyond repair in the middle eastern theater. The tank that took over 70RPG hits was towed out repaired and operational the same day. PR doesn't have a tank tow truck, so once the tracks get thrown, the thing is FUBARed.

Well, in real life, thats the REAL THING. But dont imagine tank ( especialy the crew ) are invincible loool! Yeah the CR2, the M1A2 and the L2A6M can take ALOT before been out of action but, once again it have its limit.

As you see, no the Tank dosent blown up, but how long you think its gonna be to repair it ?

Or Do you think Crewman can stay out of harm way in that tank ?

Just look at the dirty smoke coming out from hatch, i'm pretty sure its 100% toxic to human.

Look at this Bradley you think Crew get out of this uninjured ?

By The Way, Coalition have lost many tank.

Some damaged vehicles can be recovered some are beyond repair and are destroyed in the battlefield to prevent equipment falling in to the hands of the enemy

But seeing how the turret beign disabled etc etc works atm, I don't think there is a damage model that could provide what you want.

Respect the R-Staff, they are pretty...pretty badass
so, if you don't like PR, get a refund

Only one CR2 has been damaged beyond repair, it was destroyed by another Cr2. Two CR2's have been damaged by a IED EFP and a RPG29 that bounced of the ground and hit the underside, both these tanks drove away under their own power.

All tanks can be destroyed. And they should remain that way in game IMO.
