Shoot a Chopper with a Tank

Hi guys,

now it happens so often that i have to ask this.

I think its not very realistic that a tank can shoot down a chopper that is over 500 m flying across them.

But i shot down the helos and get shot down when we are flying.

Is it possible, that the tank rounds dont work if the get shot to high in the air? lets say over 300m the round dont work any more.

I have no problem if i get shot down flying very low, but get shot down when hovering @ 700-800 m is very boring.

If it was a lucky shot, np, but it happens to often. Park the tank @ a hill so that the gun looks straight in the air, and a tank is much better then the aav...

But its boring, imo! And not very realitic. dont think that tanks even can look on air targets.

tank rounds are designed to kill choppers in r/l, it even says it on there feature list, look it up.

The reason why it happens way more in game than it dose in r/l is cos the the engagement ranges in PR are much small than what they are in r/l and that most pilots dont fly there choppers in a realistic manner.

Im not sure if there has been a recorded kill, but I know that the M1 can field a proximity detonated charge and once it reaches the range of the target explodes, similar to a radar missile without the radar

i know that is it possible. But i think not in the way it is now ingame. And i dont think that a tank crew in RL checks the air up to 500 m over them. A tank is a ground attack vehicle... And nothing else.

And ingame now it is a way to easy. With this monster zoom that tanks have.

No one never gets fucked up by this? Hover 750 m high and then get shot down bye a tank? With now lock on, no beep, only boom and down. Now i search google if there was a confirmed helo shot down bye a tank....

just change the way you fly choppers to stop getting shot down, its really that simple....

This has come up a bunch of times before. Yes, choppers get shot down more frequently in PR than is realistic. No, it is not unrealistic for a tank to shoot down a chopper, at all.
