I've been playing PR 0.7 since Feb 2008 and after a short while Fools Road became 1 of my favourite maps but in the new patch (0.75) PR developers have made it so the brits side have to gain all the flags except Bunker before the brits stop bleeding tickets. It has made the map very difficult to play if you are on the brits side

I realized this the first time I played commander as the brits when we lost by over 150 tickets even though we nearly had all the flags. So yesterday when Fools came round the corner I went commander again and instead of attacking I had 4 squads defending train depot and 2 4man squads attack estate.
We won by 170+ tickets. |

^^ smart choise. Defence > offense. You almost always need a huge majority of the flags before there is ticket bleed, so often there is no point in attacking since the attacking side almost always gets more casualties. (and lets face it, without ticket bleed the only thing that matters is the k/d ratio)

Well, in any case a good defense is a better offense, aggressiveness usually brings you to higher mediums in any situation. This map tactically proves that players need to think about strategy before personel self glory, which is what PR is about, they are challenging the individual to strive to work together and solve any issue, I' am guessing this map is testing the theory of spacial understanding on counter offensive and the meaning of Defend and hold not search and destroy.

Sneaking into depot with an SVD and an engi is my new favorite thing! It really screws the brits up when they start dying and then blow up as they try to use the jeeps we just mined to kill us.
This map would work better as scenario, trying to get armour accross to the other side intact, through one of three choke-points. AAS works OK, but its not the best it could be yet. |
