Eliminate the penalty to sustitute for the fact that IRL minefields would be common knowledge.
The AT mine is a drastriclly underused resource in part because of the almost certainty that you will TK someone and be punished. Poorly or randomly placed mines will cause TKs that in all honesty should be punished but I think that is the exception rather than the rule. I see mines placed in logical chokepoints the majority of the time and the Art of Mines becomes creating a trap because cautious drivers will always see your first 2 or 3 but it is that cleverly hidden last mine, on the path around the obvious ones that makes my day. |

Driver all the way - You always have to watch out for possible mine, no matter where you drive, and when it's friendly, you even have the big red skull, which in my opinion shouldn't even be there..... And yeah he should be kicked, then he's gonna have time to think about what he's done...

Next version TKs by mine wont do any score penalty for either the engineer or the driver. The TK punish script will still be called since it's a TK but we can't stop that from happening.
But it's also a good thing if the guy is doing it on purpose, so you can punish. |

I always hated getting a neg score when settings mines, and when accidentally hitting them

I think that no one should be punished. It happens quite often and gets extremly annoying.
Altough be able to deploy a mine sign would be nice |

Usually it's drivers fault because he didn't saw the friendly mine, but sometimes engineers are placeing mines in stupid places (like the only way out from friendly base or similar situation)... so lets blame both of them, (driver for careless driving, engineer for lack of thinking

They way I see it, in a real life situation, a mine like the kind we are talking about in PR, is the kind that has to be laid by a single person, in a specific place. We are not talking about mass deployed landmines that are dropped on a general area. As such, it would be expected that anyone else in the force that deployed the mine would know where it was and to avoid it.
Players in PR cannot be expected to attend a briefing before playing where every friendly mine location is explained. As such I think it is silly to enable friendly fire on mines at all. I see no reason why it can't be expected that, as a mod designed to represent reality, we can't simulate foreknowledge of friendly mine locations by disabling friendly fire mine damage entirely, thus eliminating the problem of TK's and punishment. If you think about it, the majority of people who place mines do it in valid locations and with no intention of harming friendly players. As such it's unfair to punish them for the driver's mistake. Conversely, the driver shouldn't have to be expected to stop and look for friendly mines when in a real life combat unit he would already have something like that marked off on his map. As such its also unfair to penalize the driver for not having adequate information on what his team-mates are doing. Finally, those people who DO intentionally TK with mines, either by mining heavy traffic areas or by putting a mine directly under an unused vehicle, why not instead of punishing these people, simply deny them the satisfaction of being able to use mines for TK purposes altogether? thats just my 2 cents. This is strange, where are all the people who punish me in game? They should surely be here voting to punish the engineer!
Either players who punish aren't part of the community in posting on this forum, or some people may be lying in public! |

Even if the idiot engineer doesnt warn anyone, the driver still has eyes.
But i hate to see an engineer lay down a good field of mines outside VCP on basrah, and then some solo spec ops in a stolen Landrover goes careering into the field of mines, making the engineer TK about 5 others in the blast...The engineer gets kicked for mass punishing. ...mongol... |

most drivers are idiots. you can even stand infront of them shooting the mine and spamming "no way man", and they will still run over the mine
