vehicle gunners not scary enough?
Vehicle gunners in PR dont really last that long as there always picked off without fail, partly becasue the gunner's head is poking out the top of the gun asking to be blasted off, when you press the C button behind a 50 cal your character model should duck behind the bullet shield and not be so easily killed. I think this is sort of important as heavy guns and jeeps should be dangerous and not an easy target, if you hear a vehicle gun you always see soldiers rushing towards them to get an easy kill, Light AT should be the primary concern for vehicles not rifle bullets.

The main problem with PR's vehicles is, that they're from vBF2. And since everything in vBF2 is so 1337, there comes your problem. No at least half-sensible man would be driving around battlefield with exposed rear...

I agree. There are a lot of times when I prefer to take cover behind a jeep (and shoot from there) instead of jumping on the MG. Some kind of cover for the gunner would help. Also anything that would increase the effectiveness of suppressive fire would be usefull.

The best example would be the British landrover - it's actually represented fine. The problems are that the viewdistance and lack of optics on the modelled 50 cal means that the weapon is never acting at its optimal range (600m+) where it simply outranges assault rifles. That and the fact that for people with high fps and the non-existance of any form of rifle sway, it's all too easy to pixel shoot a target's head at any distance.

Jack-in-the-box rifleman > anything that isn't entirely covered.
IIRC there should be added deviation and longer settle times for ARs in 0.7 and beyond, so that'll help alieveate this problem. |

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

just as long as there is some visual cue or meter to indicate 'sway'
was it 0.4 where you that settling period for some weapons, but there was no way of telling how accurate you would be until you pulled the trigger? so frustrating |

If you're facing a humvee 50 gunner head on it IS scary. But yeah, on any angle other than that he is easy to pick off.

its because the jeeps in PR always end up surrounded because they just drive straight in, if they only had enemies infront of them the jeep can lay down suppressive fire long enough for the infantry to gain a better position, no one is gonna stick their head up to take down a jeep if he is spraying a million bullets at the wall your ducking behind

or drive your mates around as the jump out you stay on the gun defending there 6 or swing around and give them covering fire. the problem is no one really uses them in a squad based environment
