This might be the point where the topic changes from "PR Suggestions and Feedback" to "In-Game Tactics and Strategies" section.

"The torture never stops."

"Whether an Apache or a Hind, no one of them could stand against a stinger missile. But the hind could be hit multiple times. Not everything Soviet is crap."

actually no

irl, attack choppers are very close to the ground, as they use the hills trees etc to hide behind, and only pop up to shoot at an identified target

if ur up in the air, very easy targets for AA of basically all types

Yeah I agree. Tanks can only elevate their turrets about 30-45 degrees whereas humvee/vodnik turrets and APC turrets can go about 60-80 degrees. AA can go even further. Hovering at 800m to 1000m is a little ridiculous with the view distances. The gunner won't even be able to properly shoot off his missiles.

Yes, this would be the case in RL. However, you cant hide behind the trees, or cliffs in PR. Atleast not in a way you should be able to.

The problem is, if you see the enemy, enemy can see you (if both have, say 100% view distance). In reality you could be behind that tree, and blend in. But in BF you see the object itself shouting "Shoot me, im trying to hide behind these trees, which doesnt render correctly in long distances and there is nothing I can blend into".

That is the major problem, and I suppose only way to fix it is to make helicopter to render as a tree in longer distances.......

Unless those new upcoming tree models(?) have something to say about this.

it will never be real, in RL choppers own tank because they can see them from more than 500 meters away and kill their target before the tank can even hear the chopper in the air. we obviously cant do this in pr, mostly because it would suck ass, but the bf2 engine wouldn't let you

Choppers are superrior because of their engage ranges and tactics, bu IRL tank really DO hunt choppers, there are even special shells, they are lighter, faster and use kinetic energy to destroy its target. I have no intention to look for it in the internet to proove anything. It is simply true, they're hunting for choppers and they are very effective in doing so, thats why best tactic for pilots is to stay invisible, not the fire power or targeting system (but they help ofcourse).

[R-MOD]Mongolian_dude: ...remember to show as much respect to the new players as the veteran players. Todays 'noob' is tomorrow's 'Vet'.

Reddish_Red: We're fine...

Random.. ehmmm... "player": Give me the chopper. No. I want to fly. No. But I want to, get out from it now or I TK you. ... ... ... No

I don't know about that. Without accurate intelligence and all things being equal, my money is on the tank.

o_O We're talking about attack helis here. They are obviously meant to kick the ass of tanks.

I know what you're talking about. You over-estimate the power of the attack helicopter - a capable weapons platform but limited and fragile. Where an AH is designed to fight tanks, a tank is built to fight everything (bar jets)
