rally point suggestion

now the dev's here have created the best video game experiance IMO.
but i personly would like to see more teamwork and reality in regualar games and the way i think this could happen is...

1.change or take rally points out except for insurgents.

why: i think, well i know, wars are fought in "fronts". i get tired of rallys cuz when they get behind enemy lines it reminds me of vanillaBF. the spawning behind enemy lines is unrealist IMO.
solution possibilities:
a: double the # of firebases per flag captured(only if rally points are taken out).
and/or
b: (i think yall might be implementing this) make firebases able to be broken down and rebuilt in a different location as ur team secures more terratory.
and/or
c: make rallys more life like....a rally gets set and in order to move ur rally u have to go back with 2 guys on ur squad pick up ur rally and move it to a new location. for a reality game this majical spawnpoint makes me sick.
for insurgents, once the rally is destroyed...its gone for the game(or atleast longer than 15min). this will keep them from being so aggressive and make them stay in the city in cover like how real insurgents fight (in theory). that way as forces clear a part of town building by building they wont have a spawn point magicly reapear behind them later.

this is my one gripe with an almost perfect game...

Hello Anderson29 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums? <--message i've been getting from this forum.

ALRIGHT I DID...ARE U HAPPY NOW REALITYMOD.COM/FORUM

personally i think that there should be a bunker available for all flags..and firebases were actually used, but also couldnt be built behind enemy lines because something i see is commanders building them near mains and camping. Too bad we cant use territory and shifting lines and such..

BTW the guy in my Avatar is'nt me.

I don't like rally points either but it's the best solution IMO
they allow you to simulate larger numbers of infantry while having fewer players
right now a squad of 6 represents 24 soldiers or so

the bf2 engine can't support more than 64 people so rally points are needed to simulate large infantry battalions

also rally points as they are now lessen the amount of spawn raping (sorta)

personally I think that there should be a respawn limit of 24 before the rally point is destroyed

Re: rally point suggestion

A spawn limit on a rally would be an interesting feature.

EDIT: Yes, I am back again.

Agreed. Presently there is no real fear of dying in the game. Too much heads-down rushing about knowing you have effectively unlimited "lives" available nearby. Remove them or make spawns extremely limited (like just one per rp) and the dynamic of the game would improve imo. You could tailor the number of available spawns at an rp to match individual maps.

Map specific RP distance would perhaps be good, so on larger maps where there is space they are further away, as their removal on the big maps would imo make things a bit to much Project Bus Stop. I don't mind a bit of trek, especially if its our fault were walkign by being reckless in transport or losing an RP, but the prospect of this on maps such as QL or even fools road is a bit off putting.

OOOooo hell yes this would create a bigger stir than loss of the minimap! IMO the lil tweak would be keep the limit of 2 bunkers but allow 3 firebases... if only one bunker is built then allow 4 firebases and also some more tweakage to vehicles to hopefully prevent Noobvana due to vast quantities of people needing transport and driving off alone etc something like disallowing single crewed vehicles to be driven away as soon as they spawn or summit (just a thought)

I was thinking just t'other day "wouldn't it be great if there were no rally points"

Tis a pain in the ass to be fighting a squad enjoying a great firefight and then have to go rally point hunting in order to stop the messing about n cap a flag.
Would be better to win by working together as a team and eliminating the other squad... Rather than noddy bob finding the enemy rally by himself stabbing it and job done

As SL I hate sticking down rallys for the folk who die, cruel I know... Would be great though to actually have more of a reason to get a vehicle extraction to go back to base to rearm.

One of my best gaming experiances was on Basrah We were dropped by a Warrior on the eastern Island I stuck a rally down and said "right I'm not setting another rally till we get to the western side of the city..."
Confusion ensued followed by enthusiasm. I allocated my pointman, Left Flank, Right flank and we moved.. The moment we set off we passed a house and I heard the crack of an AK, the whole squad dropped to the deck, all rifles blazing to get this guys head down and then one well aimed shot got the bugger....
Hearts pounding we kept moving and crossed the river, in the water the last few blokes came under fire, we dropped into the construction site and started to defend the area... Out of nowhere comes the asshole world of insurgents and the guns were blazing madly... Not just to hope to point and kill the other guy just out of sheer fear to keep on firing so he cant shoot back...
Dropped out of construction and all along the way we encountered waves of insurgents We'd engage when we could and gave massive amounts of cover and ran like fuck when we couldn't take it...

Ended up on the west side, All men alive and everyone running on their last 1 or 2 Mags, Called in the merlin who promptly came to get us and we got the hell out of there fast and oh my god did that feel so good

/end Ramble

I think you see my point
