As far as terrain/statics go I believe most of them are correct or very close. But as far as vehicles go, I know all the tanks are off, which leads me to believe some of the rest are too. So it's not particularly standardized.

Seems to me that the scale of everything is off in game. I just wish I knew how to prove or disprove it. INCLUDING the soldier models themselves. There aren't very many people around the world that are two meters tall, especially in the Military. Most are probably around 5 foot 9 inches or so. I believe that gravity in the game is not modeled correctly either. Can't get more basic than "gravity"!!! It's the very thing that holds our planet together. If gravity is off, then everything else will off as well.

is it possible to have the missile speed or slow down up in flight then?

as for the Javelin, sure it will be realistic but until we have a way to simulate the T90's active and passive defence systems (which we dont even know how well it can do against a javelin) it will define overpoweredness

Javelin was in several test builds during either the .4 or .5 test cycle. Was decided to not implement because of several reasons:
A. Bugs. Had some significant problems with the top-attack mode.
B. Was ridiculously overpowered (No real way to balance as China, MEC dont have anything similar atm and it was simply too devestating in game)

SRAW system. What is the maximum range of this system?
What is the optical range of the system?

My questions are based on if a target is sitting at 600m and the optics aren't all that good to see that target clear enough to guide the missile in, then what is the use of the optics?

Currently I find the optical zoom range severely limited when I'm attempting to use the Heavy AT weapon against a tank that is at 600m. Is there a way to put the GLAC type zoom (2 zoom options) in the SRAW optics?

Here is a detailed posting summary on the actual weapon.
Quote:
Source: Lockheed Martin FGM-172 SRAW

Lockheed Martin FGM-172 SRAW

The SRAW (Short-Range Assault Weapon) program was begun by the U.S Marine Corps in 1987 as a replacement for existing unguided anti-armour rockets and grenades like the M72 LAW (Light Anti-Armour Weapon) and the M136 AT4. Between February 1990 and mid-1993, a demonstration/validation phase was conducted by several competing companies, with the first test firings occuring in 1991. In July 1994, the Predator design of Loral (now Lockheed Martin) was selected for the EMD (Engineering and Manufacturing Development) phase. It was not before 2006 that the official designation FGM-172A was assigned to the missile (before that, it was formally known as SRAW MK 40 MOD 0).

The FGM-172A is a small solid-fueled rocket powered missile, which is manually aimed and fired from an expendable shoulder launcher. The complete ready-to-fire system including missile and launcher weighs only 9.7 kg (21.4 lb). The motor is a "soft-launch" rocket with a low initial thrust, so that the weapon can be safely fired from enclosed positions. The SRAW is a fire-and-forget missile which can be used at ranges between 17 m (55 ft) and 600 m (2000 ft) against stationary and moving targets. During aiming, the SRAW's inertial reference autopilot detects the angular motion of the target, and during flight the autopilot directs the missile to a position above the predicted target location. The FGM-172A is armed with a downward-firing top-attack warhead (very similar to the BGM-71F TOW 2B), which is activated by a dual-sensor (laser & magnetic) fuze in the missile's nose.
So by that summary making it guide after 17m to a max range of around 600m with a range finder in the optics so you know optimal range. Also it says it's the replacement for M72 LAW (Light Anti-Armour Weapon). Does this mean that Rifleman AT should have this instead of the LAW they currently have now?

Keep in mind that in RL these weapons (well the SRAW anways) work on a "fire and forget" guidance system which is actually being discussed atm.
i was about to say the same thing, the eryx tough has a different system that has its ups and downs, being wire guided and all.

anyway the new heavy AT will be kick ass, i cant wait.

So it's not easy to create a realistic model of it, since it has yet to happen.
I think they were used against T-72 variants in Iraq in 2003. The most recent conflict where anti tank weapons were used was the 2006 invasion of Lebanon. IDF tanks took casualties against RPG-29 and KORNET equipped Hezbollah.

Nothing like running down to the local Iranian run food market and throwing some RPG-29s in yer trolley.

@ Rico : Curse you! Ya had to post that publicly and make the dev team look bad! *shakes fist* =P

the heavy AT had 2 levels of zoom back in .5 but i think the devs took it out because it was like having a guided sniper rifle.

Please forgive I wasn't aware that I was making anyone look off a bit. If I thought that, I wouldn't have done it. Ah, which part are you referring to by the way? I post so much nonsense it's hard to know which post you are referring to
