okay bare with me. due to my ever increasing resentment to the current skin/kit geoms of the Marines, is it possible to take the exisiting new US Army kit geoms (the tactical shades and goggles are jizz-worthy, thanks [R-DEV]THE.FIST) and throw some marpat on them? i know there'd be minor issues with kit differences "IRL" and the subbing 3rd ID patch, but would that not be better than the current?
believe me, if it wasn't for studying the technology that's aided terrorists in the past 50 years, the influence of Clausewitz in the post-1945 period and throwing down my dissertation proposal, i'd learn this shit and do it myself haha just wanted to know peoples thoughts - players and DEVs alike, to see if this is actually easy or not. |

You really think the current USMC geometries and camo are bad? The geometries I think are one of the few things DICE did right in BF2. I dont see how much they can be improved. As far as the camo, its been changed a few times by the PR team, but now I think they got it right. The US army geos right now I think would look very odd with marpat, they would just look like some sort of weird cross between army and marines. I dont know what it is exactly about RL marine and army uniforms and gear, but to me they look quite different. I guess the best way for me to describe it is to me the marines look more "bulky" and the army looks more sleek and lighter. And the helmets look different. I say keep the 2 factions the way they are I think they are both just right.

Uh, I'm a US Marine, and I see no problem with them. There is no reason for tactical shades. Yes, we are issued them, yes, we do wear them, no, they make no difference in the game and enhance nothing. Going through the work just to have tactical shades and goggles that do nothing to alter gameplay doesn't seem very logical. Just enjoy what you have.

I totally don't see my name in here.. Huh.. That's weird.
There will be new USMC kit geometries -- eventually. It will happen, don't worry. Nothing to see here, move along. These are not the droids you're looking for. -REad |
