It's kind of in the ASS thread, It kind of isn't. Over on the =]H[= server we've been having a big ol' debate about our rules, or lack thereof, concerning kits, and it set me thinking about the realism of insurgents with heavy AT kits. Is it really realistic that an insurgent can grab a brand spanking new predator missile from a weapons cache populated with AK clips, pipe bombs, molotovs and RPG's?
I mean fair enough, an Insurgent can grab a kit and use the remaining ammo from it (somehow knowing how to use it as accurately as a trained weapons system operator) , but acquiring (sp?) a new one is going to be hella difficult, no? I'd like to see the HAT and perhaps LAT (I mean, the Taliban hardly has a stockpile of LAW's on standby) kits only being refilled from a coalition repair bay or ammo crate, in a similar style to the .9 rally point, and further from that maybe even only by coalition forces (Obviously by coalition I mean US, UK, CF, etc) I don't know if it's possible or not, as my knowledge only extends as far as modelling and UV mapping, but it'd be an improvement to the Insurgency game mode, no doubt. I can see the drawbacks of it in AAS, though, where a HAT kit is ACTUALLY necessary, and not just a whimsical gift to the Insurgency. |

It is impossible to segregate between ammo types. You can either have a cache give all kinds of ammo or no ammo at all.

Considering that, it is also a resuggestion.

This has been discussed numerous times, as pointed out above ammo cannot differentiate between weapons.

I think education of players is of more importance in this instance. You don't bring a HAT kit to an insurgency fight... it's just a purely bad idea. The splash has been reduced significantly so it can't even be used to pound away at fortified positions, and death in insurgency is almost guaranteed, thus you're now gifting them (as the OP says) an armour killing kit that completely throws out the gameplay balance [and IMO it's quite tipped in favour of the insurgents already]

In deed bringing HAT kits into insurgency hot zones is a bad idea. You cant do really much damage to them anyway. Just make a server rule, that outlaws HAT kits on insurgency maps. Or just TK the guy if he wanna leave the base with it
