Ever watch Mythbusters? They blow up a huge padlock with a 12 gauge single-barrel hunting shotgun. They do the same with a M1 Garand, however the .357 magnum couldn't damage the lock enough for the lock to break.

So, how about we make rifles able to shoot through the locks? Then there's no need for the breaching shotgun.

For starters, M1 Garand .30-06 round =/= M4/M16 5.56x45 in so many ways.

For another, shotguns have breaching slugs, that, as far as I know, are designed to limit the spray of metal fragments that results when you shoot a lock (the Mythbusters had a shield for that reason).

Finally, we know shotguns are really used to breach doors by combat troops. Unless you can provide a source for the same thing with rifles, you haven't really got ground to stand on.

Or the hinges which I'm sure would be easier to break?

Sheath no sword;
Lower no shield;
Lack no vigilance.

I like the right click idea.

Hings would be another interesting way. I doubt we could get some Rainbow stuff going with breaching in BF2 but maybe ARmA 2 <_<

And I want the rifleman and specialist on the crate because I have an ingenius idea I said o.o
Plus. People run into problems when they have say a LAT or something but then they need a rifleman and can't grab one. Etc etc.
