Make the ammo boxes dropped by APC's and transport trucks kits. While on the ground it would act exactly the same way as they do currently, however if you press G while next to one, you drop your kit, pick up the ammo box, which has only one weapon slot, obviously 'held ammo box'. You can then carry it from, for example, the middle of the road where it was dropped by an APC into cover, a foxhole or garrisoned building. Once you are where you want your supplies, use the new 'drop kit' feature to place your ammo. Then run back and retrieve your rifle... (obviously it would make more sense to do it the otherway round, leaving your rifle where your planning to take the ammo, but its easier to explain this way)
AFAIK movement speed is locked into your spawn kit, but could the kit force you to aim reducing your speed and preventing sprint? Not that I think that would be too big a deal, can't see many people abandoning their guns in favour of a small ammo box equivalent to about 4 ammo bags. Although for non-conventional armies, especially insurgents, this could be a boon, perhaps an amusing side mission, stealing unattended ammo crates from BLUFOR. |

What about simply requesting the ammo box and as such taking the ability away from the driver?
I don't think that only kits can be requested right, so can dynamic objects? |

Nah, the driver should still have the say in how the ammo he is carrying gets used, imagine your on the way to drop supplies for your squad and you get caught in traffic, next thing you know you have been ambushed by four blue guys (possibbly without your knowledge) who pull all the ammo off you truck and run off with it.

It would make more sense if the ammo box is the kit itself, but i dont think its possible for a dropped kit to give you ammo.
Would be very cool to have though. |

Thats exactly what I mean Chiz, the ammo box is both an ammo box and a kit. Dunno if its possible though. However, havent we seen a dropped kit be a deployed LMG, which you have to press 'e' to use before? So there has to be some versatility in there.

We were talking about that the KIT is the AMMO BOX, not that it has it in the inventory- | |

I support this idea alot as it does help provide more tactics when defending a building and makes it alot of safer aswell.

I like it.
It adds a simple, realistic capability and an option that you would have in real combat, to move ammo supplies into buildings, bunkers etc, basically anywhere a vehicle can't go. The idea to have ammo box as a kit is genius, hope it will work! Could be really handy on Muttrah, for example, to allow a squad to carry an ammo box onto a roof they are defending or into a room to keep it safe from enemy fire. Stu. |
