I'm not saying the medic should hide, but he should never lead the attack, which is something you see a lot of these days. It's always either the medic or the squad leader who are the front of the spear so to speak, and that's just not how it's supposed to be. | |

But what is proposed here is a system that would punish the medic for sticking his head above the parapet, if the medic takes two to the chest, that's it, whole squad needs to pull out and back to the firebase, because of bad luck and random fire no matter how good your squad tactics are, the only thing a medic could logically do is hide, probably 15-20 meters behind the squad.
As far as I can see this is just another, 'snipers aren't powerful enough' because they cant nail 6 guys with one shot thread, but it wouldnt pan out like that, because if this system was ever implimented it would be a tactical no-brainer to just go lone wolf, hide in a bush and mug passing medics, fair enough the rest of the squad would beast you for it, but they have only removed one guy from the fight, you have removed six, with no skill and no tactics required on your part. |

You're forgetting that the SL can drop a rally.

OK fair enough Quiex, but there easy to forget about, I haven't really seen any use for them since 0.9 came out, other than for the purpose of getting a late joiner somewhere to spawn. Even so, the massive inconvenience this would cause to the squad is not balanced against the effort needed to achieve it, first time you get shot, there is a chance you might be able to rejoin the squad using the squads only rally point, or, if an enemy soldier is hiding nearby, the squads rally is squandered and you have to walk, second time, regardless, you are walking or the squad is withdrawing. You think its hard getting medics in squads now, you make it so that they are the only class that are killed outright first time they are shot and nobody will play as them.

HAT should definately disapear or at least be able to only be picked up by the same military. A Javelin or heavy AT weapon requires special training in order to use and the average troop wouldn't know how to use it. Same with sniper too IMO because you would have to range the weapon and that requires you to actually know how to use it and the scope.
Insurgents SHOULD NOT be using HATs and snipers because its just unrealistic. The sniper part maybe realistic to an extent, but most snipers if any are captured anyways. |

Soldier, that system though would have to work both ways though, so you 'could' say it is realistic that an insurgent wouldn't be able to use BLUFOR technology because it is beyond their comprehension, it would also have to be the case that, for example, a British soldier would be unable to understand how to operate a scoped Lee-Enfield or an RPG7.
