Picking up a few comments of my predecessors I also say give the people the choice If they want to spawn with a scoped or unscoped medkit. Since the medic indeed is a limited kit nowadays you wont have to worry about balance or everybody just using that kit. That would also lead to a nice side effect of more people actually playing as a medic which relieves you as a SL of the necessity to force the kit on members of your squad. Because what kept me most of the time from willingly taking the medkit was the lack of a scope. Its is only so far fun playing with a kit w/o a scope on a map where most of the firefights happen on medium to long distance.

Optics are fine for a medic. It's a limited kit and one that spends a large amount of time not shooting. The only balance fears I would have is the ability to nail insurgents much easier, but that's very minor.

Personally I play medic a lot and don't think it proper to have a medic use a ACOG. Reasons being it somewhat makes him overpowered especially since people use optics already. Theres a possibility it could take away from the focus on doing less of the fighting and focusing on healing your squad and keeping your squad alive. With a optic it could encourage him to fight more which could lead to him focusing less on the job at hand and the medic getting killed more often.
I too have felt the frustration of having only iron sights. So possibly for the US how about selection between aimpoint or ironsights? Then have the ironsights have 6 clips the aimpoint 4 just so theres incentive to choose 1 or the other. For russian medics or Mec china/etc just keep standard iron sights since theres no medium of a scope, or possibly include a optic for those but my point is optics shouldn't be the main focus. |

I think they should be able to choose like an officer can or leave it as is.

I'll take the ironsight over the reddot any day of the week.
However I dont mind adding an acog version... if the medic isnät doing his job then the squadleader should do his, and kick him from the squad. |

The option of Red dot sight or irons is a good one, but irons ftw

Medic's Armament is used for self defense. Putting an optic gives him an offensive capability which will lead to balance issues.

I'm open to the idea of a medic armed with a scoped rifle. Frankly, anything that makes the medic kit more frequently used is good at this point.
