First off, just like to say PR is great, been playing on and off since it first came out and have really gotten back into it this past year. But onto the topic at hand. It seems like Muttrah has lost quite a bit of its appeal and I wonder what others think of think.
I think one of the main reasons is the numerous vehicles given to Factions, specially the USMC. With the USMC having a Cobra, Hydras and Transports Hueys along with the APCs belows deck the USMC looses alot of it infantry to vehicle lead positions. You figure you get 4-6 guys in the Transport Huey squad, another 3-4 in the Hydra squad, then 3 or so in a CAS squad which encompasses the Cobra and last but no least 4 guys in the APC squad. Right there is half your USMC team devoted to vehicle operations, leaving if your lucky on a full server 2 to 2 1/2 full infantry squads. Which isnt bad, but when you figure in that MEC has 3 or 4 BTRs leaving a good 25 MEC soldiers to operate as infantry, US is kinda put at a stand still just trying to defend themselves from being over ran and pushed back to the carrier. And im not sure what others think, but I think Muttrah needs to be much more based on Infantry combat within the city. I think one of the best was to do this would be to lessen the vehicle load out on the USMC... So possible remove the Hydras and remove a one of the Transport Hueys and than remove one of the MEC's BTRs to try and even it out alittle. So what do ya'll think? Cheers' Bushrag |

I think Rhino is addressing this already, as he had a 'testing now' thread in the General forums.

Muttrah seems to be going through a few changes at the moment, should really comment until we see after the changes.
But right now, I think it is okay with the exception of the 4 (?) transports. I think it should be toned down to 3. CAS seems fine, I mean, once the Cobra is down for good, precision munitions are unavailable and the Attack Hueys will have a awfully hard time taking armor out especially if there is only one alive. And for that reason is why we have the LAVs. To provide support for INF once they hit shore. I'm not exactly sure how many are in vehicles on MEC, but I know its 3 BTR-60s and 2 BRDM-2s. Not as much, but the amount of infantry makes up for the firepower that the USMC gets. In urban environments, Infantry will sometimes outperform Armor. |

You know there are alternate layers for muttrah right?
To be quite honest, as infantry Id rather half my team in said vehicles helping me than of foot... Both from a tactical and immersive perspective. |

Let's keep air support an integral part of Muttrah, because the idea is to go armor light, but air support heavy, and the MEC going armor heavy, air support non-existent. This is a pretty fair balance I think, seeing as how air support currently has trouble taking out all but the lightest armor.
I think that to really have better balance, the USMC should get 2 respawning Cobras, but no other air support, and 2 LAVs. The rest is all up to the infantry. The MEC should be focusing on having their APCs evenly distributed so as soon as an LAV or Cobra shows up the damage done is not as much. All else should be left to the infantry. |
