Solid Knight
Default Remove the ability to swim.

How exactly does somebody carrying a HAT and seventy pounds of gear manage to swim from a carrier to shore? They should sink.

Only the light classes should be able to swim.

True, but I bet its hardcoded.
And it never really bothered me this much, are there any gameplay reasons behind your suggestion or just pure realism?

I'm not sure but you might be able to make people sink like vehicles do when they enter the water. It'd make it more realistic and change up some tactics as now you'd have to secure places to cross rivers rather than swim across anywhere.

I dont really think this is a problem as it is, only when the bridging equipment comes in maybe it should be implemented, But I dont see a huge problem with it as it is as people cant shoot when swimming = easy kill.

The problem is that you can't make it impossible for people to swim from the carrier to shore because then they can't swim across small streams, either.

If you want proof that soldiers do in fact do this (well, Marines, anyway), there's some nice mud-covered Marines who crossed canals at the start of Operation Moshtarak you can probably find pictures of.

Don't think you can change so that some classes swim and others don't. Since if I remember correctly if you spawned with the so called Heavy class and request a medic you will still be the heavy class... At least I think it's something like this since base models are stuck with what you spawned....

BUt most soldiers have means to get over waters like small boats and so on wouldnt it be better to actually have the possibility to swim, I mean its not like its overpowered or anything, but a team taht does not have any bridges to get over needs to swim and in real life you would get some sort of possibility to get across.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
