Lightbulb [ FOB Operations ] Entrenching KIT

When Building a foxhole today on Kashan i came up with an idea. Why dont Shovels spawn at the FOB? ( I understand that the shovels are a real life loadout item ) but you only use Shovels when you are Building assets close to Fobs or Fobs them selves.

When placing an FOB 3 shovels or somthing spawn in a trangle shape on each sode of the fob neer the sandbags. looking like it is sticking out of the ground such as on the picture below.



you can pick up the shovel kit ( entrenching kit ) like you would be picking up an un armed kit. you Drop your current pack on the ground which will stay there for 5 minutes anyway unless some body steals it. giving you enough time to build the Fob and an asset before your kit disapears.

When you are shoveling an Fob you usuialy dont need your kit anyway unless you are under fire ( which is a good time to abandon your fob if your squad gets taken out anyway ) thus you probibaly did a poor job hiding your movement and deployment operations in the first place :P...

in real life if you were shoveling how often are you Holding your weapon + pack at the same time?? you would set your weapon aside and start shoveling what ever it is you are shoveling. and when you are finished, you would pick up your weapon and move on.

Pros: Having the shovel part of a totaly seperate kit, This will leave an Open weapon slot on most Kits. Such as For Paratroopers you can now have a parachute + incendiary which is an annoyance when playing maps such as yamalia or silent eagle.
Or what ever new Ideas the Devs can create for us.

Cons: This means that the SL can solo create Fob locations in remote areas without squad members thus taking away a small bit of gameplay and teamwork. When you think about it.... whats stoping a SL from just requesting an engineer kit or Crewmankit? so there isnt any real differnce

-also yes people will steal your kits sometimes but this can be fixed through team communication. " MUMBLE " Respecting your teammates and not causing problems for other people.

if entrenching kit isnt popular how about just giving unarmed kit a shovel.... but then you wouldnt be unarmed you would have a shovel -_- and hit the enemy over the head... and then u get shot.... and die...

its an great idea but it also makes the danger somebody steals your kit and thats what im afraid if i have an HAT-KIT or such with me or the enemy can sneak up and just kill you like a fly lol

Awesome idea, well the SL building the FOB himself could be fixed if you made it so 2 or more people must dig it
also maybe then we would finally get pistols for every kit or maybe not
Anyhow there are many possibilities with a spare slot.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people, but the gun sure helps.

Would it be possible to have a slightly less 'powerful' shovel on armed kits, then a more powerful one for unarmed kits, then players have to choose between keeping the armed kit and taking longer to build vital defences etc, or use the unarmed kit and get the fob up and running much quicker.

How to build a FOB, Foxhole, Razorwire, TOW/HMG as SL in 0.9:

- Place the Building of ur Choice like the Manual told u!

- Go to the Supply Crate, pick up a Crewman Kit

- Shovel till ur Fingers bleeding or the Job is done

- Go back to Crate, pick up ur Officer Kit

Thats very Easy. Bye the Way, the Shovel is a vital Part of a Soldiers Equipment in Real Life.

When the shovel becomes part of the anywhere requestable unarmed kit it would be still a part of your equipment but wouldn't waste a slot in your combat kit.

I really like his idea.

Sure, his Idea is not bad but for what do we need an extra Slot? I´d like to see an secondary Function of the Shovel. As Melee Weapon in Close Quarter Combat.
