Having the shovel in the unarmed kit actually does sound like a good idea in case we are running low on slots. Wonder what the other DEVs think about this.

I'm not 100% sure how the engine works, but surely the dropped kits treated as networked items until they disappear after 5 minutes? So as far as load is concerned, the kits no better/worse than having loads of vehicles or destructible buildings on the map, which has been known to cause problems in the past?
I'm sure it would e ok most of the time, but occasionally if you had a few recently built FOB's together with some large firefights, you could be looking at quite a large number of kits being networked? |

I'm not sold on the idea, isn't really fixing any real issues we have right now other than opening up anouther weapon slot which we dont really need tbh.
This allows players to steal kits and also sometimes when you drop a kit it can just disappear if dropped on a odd surface. Doesn't happen very often but it dose happen and it happens a lot when kits are dropped next to a deployable object, they can just vanish out of the game world which wouldn't be very good at all. I just see this as a soultion to a problem that doesn't exist. |

What if you used all 3 shovels to build it, then switched back to the regular kits, and 15 minutes later the FB needs repairs. Wouldn't the shovel kits be gone? Or do you suggest they become requestable/respawn on the FB?
Or some tards take the shovels and wanders of. How are you gonna get that AA back up now? Freeing up a slot would be nice indeed, but personally I would be really worried about dropping a "rare" kit just to start digging. People grab fancy kits first chance they get. And Rhino makes a good point. |

I second the shovel in un-armed kit idea.

I like - for PR beginners how are they supposed to know the 'secret' #9 slot? Or another choice is to put the shovel on #9 as whenever you need it you WILL be near other players who can tell the new player press #9 for shovel.
Although not a big deal if its hard work or risky in anyway for server stability (^space). Clueless as a previous poster said, SL can just change kits at crates and with five minute kits his kit will still be there after (we've all done it). |

EXCELLENT Idea, though definitely should be in the unarmed kit so as to be readably accessible, but the major pro to that is you can request the unarmed kit 'anywhere, anytime'. So, in reality, it is as if you are carrying the shovel with you, just not in your weapons slot..
