I think it would be nice if the commander had a icon for his/her UAV, since this would facilitate navigation a lot, making it easier to know WHERE the UAV is, and, thus, making it easier to report the location of enemy units to the rest of the team. This would also be useful to Squad Leader, because they would know which area the commander is recognizing without have to waste more time to ask for the co-ordinates. Example:
-SL of ''Infantry 1'' squad: Commander, can you recon the C4 area? My squad is going together with APC squad to that area to demolish a possible enemy Forward Outpost, but we aren't sure if there is actually a FO there. Then the commander could respond in two different ways, like this one: ''Affirmitive, the UAV is flyng over D2 now, I should be there soon.'' Or this one: ''Negative, the UAV is too far away, in F8 area, sorry.'' If there was a map Icon, the SL would know where the UAV is and, if it was too far away, he/she simply would not need to ask the commander. And, as I already said, this would help the Commander to know better where he/she is going to. |

Hmm I think this would already be done if it was possible, but I still support this.

Yeah, even the vanilla UAV icon would be enough.

Yeah right now when i open my map to mark targets or put icons on the map for everyone it's kind of hard to pinpoint where i am and have to use landmarks to find where im looking at. So something to help us and squad leaders to see where the UAV is smart.

As far as my information goes we can not make the UAV visible to only one team. This is the main issue about making it visible on the map.

IIRC the rockets fired from the MLRS in Desert Conflict was displayed on the map as they travelled, and I think, only for one team.
And since the UAV is a missile(?), this might be worth taking a look at. |
