Hello,
I have done a couple of searches on minefields, and it seems that no one yet had brought this up. I first had the thought of giving it a try, at least for a proof of concept, but I am afraid it is never going to happen. So I shall share the idea. The idea is to add a "natural" barrier for tank units, which changes at each map starting. Is it possible to create a permanent minefield at game start-up that is not deleted by the server after 10 minutes? What is the maximum number of mines that can be deployed in such a way? Any chance to deploy 500 mines on a 16 km^2 desert map? A python script could easily run through a couple of predefined mine groups and deploy them on boolean basis, resulting in a quasi random deployment of mines or patches of mine groups at predefined positions. Of course, One has to code in the mine coordinates in manual fashion in an mine matrix and write an algrorithm that chooses which mine is going to be deployed at startup and which not, but should not be too difficult to do (just time intensive.. ) A nice scenario I though that might go with this scenario would be a modern day version of the Battle of Longewala: A attacking tank force would be confronted with a smaller armoured forces with airport based air superiority. If You read through the accounts of this battle in the Thar Desert, You would even be surprised to see that the desperate tank operators tried to shoot down the indian jets with their main guns.. a deja-vu from PR indeed! |

I dont agree that there should be a mine field in the game from start as this could be exploited, however i agree that mine fields should be an option in terms of maybe having the engineers being able to deploy mines quicker, and even possiably a viechle thjat deploys mines this would allow for more tatics in the game and make the engineer a better kit, the viechle isnt gunna happen tho coz of the amount of work the devs are having to do. I like the idea but disagree woth mine field being implemented automatically

Any DEV/CON feedback on the maximum number of placed mines with unlimited time of existance within the game round?

Elaborate yes you did not state in your suggestion that is was random, if this was random then the minefield wouldnt really do any good because all sides of viechles could get wiped out pretty much any time with in the game

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
