Default Civy sprint

i couldnt find it if it was a repost but here is the idea:

I was playing earlier as a civy and got captured by a US heavy MG guy
shouldnt civies have much greater speed wearing only clothe(no body armor) and sneakers and not having any guns.

was wondering if civies could be faster in PR

They tried that and it was abused too much. Civilians would act unrealistically because they knew they could get away easily and had no fear of weapons being pointed at them because of the punishment system.

If you're getting captured a lot, you're not playing them correctly.

But the problem these days isn't getting captured, its getting shot. Seriously I've been shot at even when I'm clearly a civilian more times than I've been captured.

About 30% faster sprint would make sense to outrun them.

Sheath no sword;
Lower no shield;
Lack no vigilance.

I think the normal sprint would be good. Its always annoying having to make your squad stop walking so you can catch up.

Well for one thing, the MG guy is TRAINED to run with heavy equipment and is faster and stronger. How can an untrained civie off the street outrun him? I've been running sprints and marathons and am quite fast and have adaquete stamina. I tried running with soldiers and keeping up wasn't easy. In the end I still couldn't win.

As for getting shot: greater sprint speed still < bullet speed. Besides, if there are insurgents nearby and you are close to blufor, it's normal that you get shot. You should stay BEHIND or VERY FAR AHEAD of the insurgent front line with no insurgents withing 300m

Yes I know the map is old, but that doesn't really matter now does it?

Soldier: Very Fit, trains all the time, is battle ready.

Civvi: MAY be fit, train's rarely, isn't there for a battle.

TIp for when you're a civvi: Don't sprint unless you're being chased, then you'll outrun them.

@ HellDuke - that's unrealistic, Insurgents regularly use civilians as "Shields" (Not Literally as a human shield, but as there are civvis there NATO troops won't be calling in some heavy support ), so the NATO troops have to be careful.

If the Collaborator could outrun the Coalition forces, there would be no way to arrest them at all, unless you start play Pacman with them (which is just dumb)

Yes, just don't sprint all over the place, only use it when needed. And don't worry about outrunning the blufor, they'll just shoot you instead amateurs.

Actually, there have been photos released of insurgents using civilians as shields.
(I believe it was the Hamas [IDF's OpFor?], though, in particular.)

I don't think it's necessary that we arrest them at all, really. They're unarmed collaborators, so if they get away it's not a gigantic loss. If you catch one of guard, that's a different story.

(Though, I agree that it's more likely for a soldier to outrun that civi/collaborator than vice versa.)
