Is is possible to give them different sound effects? It's minor suggestion/priority but there's times when you cannot say if the enemy is just burning up something with incendiary or ran to trip flares, since they have same sound effect. I also think this is not very much extra work for you either.

Well if the enemy is burning flares isn't that as a great consern as a trip-flare going off?

I agree with Rampo, they are both equally worthy of investigating

Isn't the flare grenade the same thing that is mounted on the tripflare? If not i don't think they would sound too different anyway

His suggestion is not about the importance of the effect of the sound, but being able to tell the difference, so that you can chose your points of investigation with greater efficiency.
Scenario: Two squads assault a compound containing hostile supplycrates. One squad moves directly to the crates while the other clears out the rest of the compound. Flares/Incendiarys go off(who knows), it might be your friends that you expect to be destroying crates or it might be the expected hostiles flares that theyve tripped in. It could mean something you expect or it could mean that you should go forward being more apprehensive. An advisor might just be able to say that they all produce roughly the same sound because of what they are, but I think not, no offense |

It's a good idea that I imagine would not be a big deal to implement.
Perhaps just change the sound file tone an octave so that there is a subtle difference between the two. |
