"And the jump penalty is a measure agains bunny hopping. And jumping cannot be taken out of the game due to some statics and terrains needed to jump over, ex. Fallujah West pathwalks."

yeah,but bunnyhop happens still.
i think the punishment from the jumpin is too big.

Perhaps, but the crouch speed for me looks realistic while aiming down the sights. Of course that when you are about to enter a house and your adrenaline is pumping you will whether:

Do it VERY slowly/carefully
Do it FAST.

So as the game can't "render" adrenaline pump, I think the crouch speed is ok.

But why does it matter while moving aiming down the sights? You can only fire in PR when you are holding still...

BTW, back to the question of the thread. 1st you don't always have APC squads. Take Muttrah for example, when the server is not full, the admins ask you not to take the "big toys". Also soldiers CAN jog in real life. Of course they don't jog all the time (ex. in a city) but the game can't determine where you are afaik...

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple!

This game is about reality. When walking get annoying as real life, player will start to appreciate not being shot and having transportation (AKA APC) as much as real life. This will also encourage player to be not get killed, increasing players "carefull-ness" and actually clearing area before sprinting into not secured sector. This combined with rally point change will almost certainly guarantee to change players behavior from current "I don't care I'l just respawn".
A lot of maps don't have mass transport and decreasing the speed at which you move will not encourage APC crewman or other squads with the a techy or humvee to shuttle your squad because they don't care they aren't walking and don't have to spend 45 min to walk from main to the first flag.

I could see this being a huge problem on maps like Asad Khal where each team does only have 1 troop carrier truck and on insurgency maps it wouldn't be too bad for insurgents because they have caches to spawn off of and they need to defend those anyways but it would still suck when you want to go put an IED on a far out road or set up an ambush.

Just a side note: the current PR soldier dominates todays best Olympic runners they sprint at a VERY high rate (go time it, i forgot the real number but its really high)

Hmm... however if you just crouch and shoot is moar better afaik? Cuz deviation is full when you move I think. What I know is that shooting while moving is more tacticool than useful. I KNOW they do that IRL but in PR,,, well never tested it TBH Ill try it and report back.

This is what I think they should do, if not hardcoded:

[Standing]

Walking (standard "forward"): leave it as it is.

Jogging/running (holding [shift]): keep the speed but increase fatigue considerably, in order to better reflect real life trained soldiers.

Sprint (double-tap [shift] and hold): double the speed and lower fatigue to half the standard sprint or even less.

Opinions are like assholes - we all got 'em and they all stink!

Well this SOUNDS hardcoded... I don't understand the bold part... Care to elaborate? Because it sounds like you run more but you get less tired?

What I wanted by double-tapping and holding [shift], if possible, was to be able to sprint ca. twice as fast but half the distance, or even shorter, than the normal sprint we now have in PR.

Does that make better sense?

Its the very "Arcade" part of this game. Can't hit a thing while moving and shooting. Just like in some arcade game certain ammunition has devastating effect on one character but other ammunition don't do much even if that weapon is rocket.
Few weeks back in map Al Basrah I tookout APC using RPG7. Crew bailed out, and start to do the "move to side while firing burst, sprint, fire again". It was ridiculous to see their bullet literally disappear into thin air even though it was only 70 meters away. I was looking at him with binocular while standing like no one was shooting at me.
Certain changes made in this game in the past is more arcade than reality. So is LAT 4 second settle time. Even though shouldering this weapon is slow as is.

This certainly will discourage Insurgent player from setting up IED in easy to find place, get spotted, get killed, repeat. Once player take that much effort to set-up IED, it better be good, and stick with it until enemy team transport pass over the IED.

A vehicle in real life is very important to move around. Player have to plan good to make truck never take enemy fire and transport friendly to frontline repeatedly. If this is huge problem then this will certainly discourage vehicle from being used as disposable.

Admins also can kick players who decide to purposely not transport friendly (Technical or APC) and use them as IFV. Its already what many servers do as their policy.

This change will not conribute to arcade fun. But certainly do for realism. thats what I am looking for in this mod. Boring sometime? Yes. Annoying? Yes. But what if I play this as simulation rather than Arcade shoot-em-up? None of this real life like limit is annoying. But rather admirable.
