Instead of leaving it as an Area Attack. Make the JDAMs Player/Pilot Controlled. Leave Artillery as our fire mission.
I know It might create stupidity. But this is up for discussion. Anyone? |

Uh, there already are JDAMs on the jets (technically L-JDAMs though, same thing as a JDAM but with the added laser guidance)
Some jets have the 1000lb paveway model, although it behaves more like a L-JDAM since it can lock on to the target coordinates placed on the map by the commander. |

If it will free up a spot for the commander to drop something else, I'm for it.

You seem to be suggesting two different things at once:
1. Removing the JDAM as a commander asset 2. Changing the explosion radius/guidance of bombs on the jets I'm undecided. |

the F-16 already carries a five-hundred pound bomb, and there is a modeler in the community section working on making a 500 lb jdam for the mig. carrying the jdam on a jet would create too much spam-ness as the plane can drop two, land and rearm, and drop more. its a very big bomb, but I think the 500 lb on the f16 should remain unchanged

i dont see the need for the commander to fire it, but maybe have it be OK'ed by the commander ( have to request permision to drop/weapon free) and what about a Mortar kit?? ( i even have resuply worked out for it, lol.

if you were going to do this you would need like a 5min rearm time when the jet lands, otherwise you would have cheapness at a large scale.... 2000lb Jdams going off every 20 seconds.... tanks, and inf would be useless.

agreed, but it can only drop on a Laser Designator, and with Commander Permsion, that would cut down its constant use.

We don't need a larger bomb. Imagine a noob getting into a jet and dropping a bomb in their base. Everything in the base will be destroyed.
The current bomb is sufficient enough. Though the OpFor bombs are a joke. |
