After reading this thread about the HAT kit in insurgency: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-...nsurgency.html I realized for a while now the community has been pretty divided on the issue. Some people feel that HAT kits should be removed from INS maps, due to the risk of losing it to the ins as well as some people thinking its unrealistic. And currently grabbing a HAT kit on ins no matter how well your intentions are seems to get you in alot of trouble with teammates. I suggested a fix a while back that involved the INS not being able to use the HAT if they pick it up seeing as how they are not trained in its use. Many people thought that the INS could figure it out easily enough though.
I fall into the camp that feels that if its done in real life, it belongs in PR. And anyone who does 5 minutes of research will find out that missiles like the Javelin are used frequently in Iraq and Afghanistan. So my solution is this, and keep in mind I have no idea if this is even possible in PR: if you have a HAT kit, use the 1 missile you have and die, then an insurgent picks up the kit he cannot reload it. why? because theres no way in hell that ins are going to have any spare SRAW or ERYX missiles lying around. I highly doubt that they can be found in any black arms markets. However, if you have a HAT kit and havent used it yet, then die and an ins picks up your kit then he can use the missile thats in it but again, cant reload it. I think this would more or less satisfy those both for and against having HAT kits on ins maps. Those who want the kits on the maps for realism purposes will still have them, but at the same time any insurgent lucky enough to pick up a kit will not be an unstoppable killing machine as he will only be able to get 1 shot if that. Let me know what you think. |

I don't think it id possible - sadly.
The way you get ammo isn't based on what you have, just how much ammo you need. |

If we could we would have ALL weapons only reloading off of that factions ammo source (ie, a M16 can only reload off a US ammo source even if an Insurgent is using it) but this is not possible in BF2.. The best we can do is what we have done, ammo can only be reloaded off your own team's ammo source (not matter what weapon you are have)

Hm... If the INS over-run a base I bet that they wouldn't just throw out the goodies they find there, including the misiles. What.. Are they gonna think: "What are the chances of finding a Javelin? These misiles are just taking up space, let's throw them out". I see no problem with INS being able to fully use any HAT kit...
