Seems pretty stupid to risk 14 tickets (10 for the apache and 4 for the pilots) vs 2 for the downed pilots. Let the transport vehicles/helo's do their job and the gunships do theirs. Enough people complain that the apache can't survive as it is without adding this into the mix.

If a pilot deems it too risky, then he won't land.
But this is Project Reality, we should approach the game in as if each teammate will give his collegues the best chances of survival he can. |

not always, I've had a few incidences of getting hit, flying back to main, but losing power en route. The pilots are in the middle of nowhere, the 2nd chopper flew back with them and is overhead while the pilots run away from their aircraft which is now aflame. This is the most likely scenario this tactic would be used, either the apache would need to stay there and cover his 2 crashed mates until a trans helo (if 1 is alive and not already tasked) can arrive OR he can quickly get down there and pick em up and go home.
Or he can abandon his teammates. and let them walk home or let a trans helo land without cover. Giving choices to players empowers them, and gives them oppotunities to work together more effectively, more realisticly and in a way that is more immersive. |

If yopu can find me one person that will land his Apache in the middle of kashan to drop off some troops then I will be surprised. If anything "noobs" will be less likely to do it...

To be honest, i dont think its a good idea...
first of i would ask is this kind of troop transport common? with a standart protokoll, how to proceed? (dont think so, but dont know) 2. the weapons system must be disabled (to stay realistic) , i dont know if this is possible with the engine. ... if it is possible, then i would prefere to stay combat effective and cover a trans chopper. ... if it is not possible, i can imagine Apachie crewed by 4 to have the ultimate look around and spot the enemy mi28. ... you can easily sit on a tank ride into the battle -- enable 6 passangers? ... you can store youre stuff on a tank --- requesting kits from tank? ... a tank can try to pull an other tracked vehicle --- repair crate droped by tank? |

I assume they are trained to taxi people like this out of combat, rather them bring them into battle in such a way.
Also It would have to disable weapons as someone could just sit on the side with a AA or a hat. |

2) show me a tank in a combat zone with everyones kit on it in recent years, then prove that its standard practice, and sure. 3) Towing isn't possible at this stage, unless the negative explosion stuff bears fruit, and I don't think a tank can pull another tank anyway unless its already on a road or something? | |
