Okay, so there's some debate as to the effectiveness/realism of a JDAM vs. Artillery, so why not just give the commander a choice? I propose that the commander get options for fire support (when applicable. i.e. an INS commander would not get a JDAM). Using Kashan as an example, the commander would gain access to mortar fire at 30 minutes and access to artillery and a JDAM after an hour. As soon as any one of the fire support options are used, the timer resets for them all.

Thoughts? Ideas? Is this even possible?

JDAM just needs to be tweaked. Currently if it was possible to choose between the two the JDAM would only we used if there was a need for epic smoke grenade

Maybe JDAM should magically spawn more after explosions witch are soundless and without any visual effect but kill the people around so they can't hide in buildings or in a ditch just under the explosion.

I support giving more indirect capabilities to the commander, definitely.

More Area Attacks please. Area attacks can break stale-mates and generally alter the game in exciting ways. This idea is good.

It would be no more frequent than the mortar strikes the Insurgents get now. As I said, the timer for all of the attacks should reset when any one of them are used.

Well, how about just sending in a-10s and f-16s to bomb them to oblivion?

Again, as I said, if the map doesn't have a JDAM now, it won't be given a new one. That map will only have artillery and mortar support.
