Default A red line for drivers

Ok if you ever been a gunner / driver for any kind of armor youd know about the problem of the gunner not being able to see all the way down on a hill top. so cant a line be drawn for the driver so he can see how far the gunner can see? im not sure tho if the lines gonna be always right.

I think he means like the gunner view box that pilots have in the attack choppers.

Communication is the key, if the gunner cant see and he needs to shoot something, he needs to speek up.

I think thats because you cant see the gun but with the tank you can see the gun quite happily (usualy its at the front as if its facing behind it can block your view).

Nope, he means a line that indicates how low the corsshairs on the gunner go in comparison to the driver's view.

Unfortunately this changes from vehicle to vehicle so it would have to be added to each vehicle, it would not be realistic and due to the views having different locations on the vehicle they would not always be accurate. This is one of those times where getting used to each vehicles views is the best method.

when what? if your crew doesn't have effective coms you should be punished for it.

thats not what i mean trust me ive been tanking for a long time. but it would help alot if a simple line was thier. would make things much more efficent. im not sugesting this red line for noobs rather to make it a little easyer for an expirenced gunner / driver to focus on other things.

+1 no mic = you shouldn't go in major assets like tanks as they need coms to be utilized properly

Liam, even if you have a mic and are using it effectively there ARE times when you come over a hilltop and immediately see a target or when something comes from an unexpected direction. You can see them, your gunner can see them, but you dont know if your gunner can hit them. Being able to see the lowest point the gunner can aim at can save your life.

This has nothing to do with 'effective comms'. Its no good telling the driver you cant hit the target while the shell it fired makes its way straight towards you.

The worst cases of this are when you find the target is just below your LOS and the driver thinks you have a shot, or when the target is in your sights and the driver moves as you are about to fire because he thinks you cant hit it from that angle.

Comms dont help when you have just missed, or been hit.

@ anyone using the 'but IRL...' argument:
IRL, tank crews use the same vehicle for years before coming accrossa situation like this. They know what they can hit, and what they cant. In PR the crews use a lot of different vehicles for a very short time. They dont know what they can or cant hit at any given time. Can you give a good reason why a tank in PR should not be used in a similar way to a tank would be used IRL?

XKCD forums, in the middle of a perfectly sane conversation:
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Best post ever made!

EG: PPSh is made of win and quite possibly stamped sheet metal
