I was playing on Battle for Qinling, driving a tank through an enemy firebase, getting my gunner lined up to fire on the firebase. Attack chopper was flying about 600m above us, watching for tanks and other threats. Suddenly, a chinese soldier runs up from behind the tank, throws an incendiary on the tank, and runs away. This gives us an INSTANT immobilization and warning lights. The turret could still move, and we were franticly looking for an enemy HAT or tank. Both the gunner and I heard the incendiary grenade go off, and the attack chopper's gunner saw the soldier run up just as he was throwing it.
The chopper gets killed by the jet, and another infantry throws an incendiary at us, blowing us up. I thought the dev team fixed incendiary grenades burning right through tank armor like it was made of plastic =/ Also, is it even realistic for every soldier on the battlefield (minus pilots and crewmen) to carry around an anti tank/firebase/emplacement grenade? =l |

Well, if you placed it on the engine it would surely burn threw and disable it, or if you put it over the hatch it would probably burn threw and drop onto the crew, or you could melt the barrel and disable the weapon.

True, but I'm saying it landed on the APC, like a few feet away from the turrent for example. Maybe the devs could modify it like the critical hit spots for tanks? So if you throw it on the engine it will disable it after a few seconds if the APC doesn't move? Maybe...

the radius seems to be that of a firebase, its very annoying to be gotten by an incendiary
but at the same time it rewards APCs that stick with the infantry. (since its hard to throw an incendiary while dudes are shooting at you.) |

Although it might be realistic for it to burn through the armor, it's unrealistic for every soldier to have one.. I've also learned that if you throw an incendiary at someone, when it first goes off it kills the person. Also, as soon as the incendiary grenade explodes, thats when it damaged my tank.. not a damage over time thing. I thought the DEV team made the thermite not damage heavily armored vehicles in 0.85/0.86?

True. Would be great if it was removed from Scoped rifle classes
1) because the scopes should be covering anways 2) cuz that would open a slot for an undeployed mode |

Incendiary grenades are made for disabling armor. PR incendiary grenades are flawed.
1) They always fall through the vehicle before igniting. 2) Damage should be taken if you are standing next to or laying on a burning incendiary. 3) One incendiary should disable any vehicle if placed on the top side. 4) Should do minimal damage if ignited on ground next to vehicle. 5) Damage should be continuous as long as its burning. |
