I dont know what the exact value was but cas found the gravity in bf2 with respect to vehicles to be about 3 times stronger than normal earth gravity... and yes that is after accounting for the wacky bf2 size units. We changed the value to be correct and additionally fixed the values for acceleration so that you dont need to constantly push down the pedal to move. Mind we still have some more tweaking to do but I would agree that things related to gravity, suspension and acceleration are certainly not hardcoded.

iirc devs have said it is possible to adjust the physics in bf2 but they haven't gotten around to it yet. Id love to see some new physics maybe new physics can change some of the terrible things like armor sliding,bouncing, cars taking allot of damage from going over small bumps etc, maybe even make bodys less rubbery so they don't flop around when you kill them.

I would say the changes to the gravity etc did make it so 50cal gunners were much more able to engage as their firing platform was far more stable.
