Its meant to simulate as much as the game can the suppression effect. I would expect explosives would also do more than just a blur, the shockwaves on larger bombs can knock people unconscious

So you're suggesting a "bloom" kind of filter with colour adjustments?
Fair enough it looks kind of pretty and sparkly but also very distracting and dazzling. It's possible with shaders (which iirc the devs avoid because it can cause conflicts with pb?) but I don't think it's necessary. |

Hello There we are not talking here about blurred vision when bullet hits near u, what i said before i meant that it happens in Project Reality and i dont know if it happens in real life. The first screenshot just presents Suppression effect in PR and second screen is just suggestion to make Graphics EFFECT Do You Undesrstand Now ? | |

All my opinion in this little sketch.
![]() But rest assured, I would like to see a tiny ''blurrish-bloom'' effect because it tends to smooth edges that anti-aliasing x2/x4 (I use x8 on my Laptop) can't smooth and smooth pixely rendered trees typical from the BF2 engine. |

you would have to ad shaders or/and hdr effects to the engine, afaik it doesnt support it yet, also my gpu has no shader 3.0 so i say no, please

well, you can play with what your card does with the game a little bit. you can force it to use higher AA and do lots of other fun things with your graphics card that makes the game look different.
but changing the actual graphics of the engine would require editing of the graphics engine itself. which even if it was possible (and considering how most companies treat their graphics engine thats a very big if) it would require a huge amount of work and alot of expertise that are hard to find and usually cost a large deal of money. |

I've got to agree, I've never liked bloom... It just seems like a cheap effect and i've never seen it put into good effect. It destroys details and dazzles you at the same time.
Also, a bloom effect will blur in that little speck in the horizon that's shooting at you, thus fueling more arguments for people adding a zoom to everything so they can see it :S Tannhauser, I seem to remember there being a pixel shader effect that can be done which blurs the edges depending on their change in angle/different position in the depth buffer. Infinity - Deferred lighting (under anti-aliasing). Although I doubt this could be implemented easily. |
