Hello,
Well, the title said it I think. I saw a video the other day where an Apache drop one flare to mark an ennemy's location. I was wondering if you guys could implement that into Project Reality, as I (being a Pilot [in PR] I don't think that it is hardcoded, because the flares are able to drop them one by one. The pilot doesn't have that much weapons, actually, just flares, Hellfires and AA, you could just add "Single Flare". Would change a LITTLE bit the gameplay, and it would be a cool feature. Just my two cents. Cheers, spitfiRe- (-: |

Agree, holding down x should drop as many as you want, whilst pressing once should only drop 1.

actually, this would be very useful for transport choppers as well.
as a huey on muttrah, i fly over enemy positons quite regularly, if i could drop a flare straight down that was visible over a large distance, it could easily alert nearby troops to the enemy here. |

It is in my opinion a more useful system, but I have no idea how realistic it is.
Combined arms utilizes this. |

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

Maybe you the devs could add this smoke generator U.S. Army Helicopters Weapons Systems to the huey. But i am not sure if there is a smoke dispenser for apache, cobra etc.
And AFAIK there are smoke dispenser for jets too. At least in Lock On there are some, which are used like hydras but deploy smoke instead of killing everything. Could be usefull for the A-10 if the F-16 marks soft targets (such as Infantrie) with smoke and the A-10 just shoots in the smoke screen or for infantrie to use it as concealment. |

never heard/saw a helicopter dropping a flare STRAIGHT down on the ground.... afaik most choppers shoot them to their left, right, or both sides ..... but ive also never seen flares like in PR now.. | |

The ability to drop single flares would be useful, also the flare count should be increased to 90 flares...
