I'm recalling a demonstration (circa 2004), not a document. You can always ask a military adviser. However, given this was 2004 it is possible that the type of bullet proof glass used in modern HMMWVs has changed.

In the demonstration no scientific explanation was given at the time. I suspect the reason the 5.56x45mm could penetrate as opposed to the larger 9x19mm and 7.62x51mm rounds would be due to higher velocity and smaller surface area of the 5.56x45mm round in conjunction with the structure of the glass. Kind of like how kevlar weaves can be stitched through but the same weave would stop a 9x19mm round.

There's also a video on YouTube (I know, I know) of a purported sniper's shot being stopped by the windshield of a HMMWV. Albeit you can't ascertain the type of round or weapon being fired.

chuckMFd on 0.9- Can we trade back Assault on Mestia for Qinling?
[R-DEV]masaq - It's rather difficult to "apprehend" a Tu-95... you try persuading a 200-ton aircraft to land somewhere it doesn't want to, when it has enough fuel to get home and it knows you can't/won't shoot it down

Just because it may be the most realistic thing in the world doesn't mean that it will happen

Project Reality's goal IMO is to find Realism and Gameplay and meet in the middle. Full on Realism doesn't work in a video game. Because if it was, odds are Blufor would win almost every single time because they would be alot more advanced.

I agree with the Idea, but i think that u cant see, example, try to hide behind your desk your computer is standing on,If your whole head is hidden you cant see the screen......................And its should be possible,if you can hide in the turret seat,i think you can hide in other seats.....

It's spammy and should not be implemented. The first times you come across a vehicle and the driver just ducks there'll be alot of whining in here.
