Wink Stereo Sound..?

Don’t know if this has been upped already, but even if it has, it needs a bump..
Being an avid CS-player I must say sound in BF2 is anything but good.. now I’m talking stereo/surround (the actual sounds, of this mod, are great..)
In CS I use sounds as a radar, combining where I know, from radar, my friends are with what I hear, I can almost always get my enemies location. In this game, the sound is so poor that even at short ranges I don’t know if people are coming from the left or right.. seeing as stereo hearing is quite real (unless you are hearing-impaired) it would be realistic “in game”..

Just a thought..

Its your computer/hardware/software or you.

I have brilliant sound in game and can get a fix on an enemy in about 2/3 shots.

I have 5.1 surround sound and can pin point a guys location when he fires in seconds. knowing where about he is then a quick take of cover and have a look for him ect.

may i ask why do you allways use bold, italic and underline in every post? I only use them if somthing really dose need to stand out.....

as for walking sounds ect, the sounds of footsteps do need to maybe turned up abit as its realyl to easy to crawl up behind somone and knife them. If they sprint thou you can easily hear them comming.

lately ive been having a problem finding Dragonovs! they ALWAYS sound like they are right on top of me, onmly to find out they are about 15 meters away from me! i also have 5.1 surround sound, but i cant use it at 2 in the morning when im playing =(

tonight im going to turn up my sound settings and see if it helps. BF2 really does have a sound system that could use an overhaul you need about 4 different bullet sounds for each gun, not the 2 that we have now.

For whatever reason I have no directional sound at all on this mod ever since .3. I still have it on vBF2 and I even reinstalled .25 and had it on there, but whenever I run .3 all of my sounds are mono. Its VERY annoying because I usually play sniper and its nearly impossible to locate other snipers as they all sound like theyre directly ontop of me.

Against the SPR you shouldn't get much of a hint - I normally only hear it if the bullet misses and hits a wall!
