I think it would be best to give him a carbine, IMO. It takes about 8-12 rounds with the mp5 (if I'm not mistaken) to kill someone in body shots.. plus with reduced accuracy, increased recoil, less damage, etc.

I dont know if it would be a good idea to put a scope on it, but I dont think recoil is the problem, as the gun doesnt have much.

Also remember, even though its a SMG, it doesnt fire pistol rounds (like the MP5 for example) but 4.6x30mm rounds, giving it nearly as much stopping power as an assault rifle.
