Lol, it seems the people who want it removed are either grasping at the teamwork excuse, or are the very people who use it themselves more than anyone/get embarrassed by it.
It really isn´t that hard not to press the button, if you are then "your not playing how you MUST play it, do as I say". Thats not our problem tbh, if you want to stop looking at it, then stop looking at it, I however both like to play in a team, and like to see that we and I are making progress in the grand scheme of things, not just sitting there trying to make some elses day the whole time. |

When I do CAS or armor support, I sometimes do the old fashioned kill counter:
pen and paper and a column for each target confirmed kill: tank, aav, apc, heli, jet, jeep, truck etc haha call me nerdy but its fun sometimes to tally everything up and see at the end what you killed exactly, but i dont think its important for gameplay in any way..... if its easy to remove we remove it, but its a bit of a pita iirc... theres no reason for players not to do it this old fashioned way if it gets removed, its still very easy to tally up how many bodies your slaying if your into that kind of thing... so the only real reason IMO to keep the kill counter is to show off to everyone else how many your killing ie ego boost. either way, i dont think it makes a big impact, and as far as swaying opinions i think people usually are prety opinionated on this and wont change their mind easily. Please keep the discussion civil. |

It's great to know how many you've killed, especially if you're sniper or a gunner of a vehicle. Keep it as it is. It doesn't affect gameplay.

What about limited people not in a squad to just the basic rifleman kits? No medic, no specialist, no leader.
Of course, you get the people that lock their squad when they are the only one in it too. I would also like to see civilians not count as kills. Maybe even subtract one? |

The whole e-penis thing was just for gags... Sorry..
And yes i know im am a bit of a fantasiser, but infact, the mod as it is now, wouldnt exist whitout fantasisers.... Thats why we all play this... Anywho, my main reason for supporting the removal of the kill count, would be that of an approach of the squad gameplay, rather than the individuals accomplishments. So, if you want a high score, be in a squad, and get the squad score to 10 000 f.example. Honestly, i like it when i have a good KDR, i like it very much when i am the number one man on the team. But thats not why i play this game, i dont play this to be number one, i play this to be part of a team, and on a team we all do our part, we all pitch in, wheter it is killing an enemy, reviving a teammate, transporting stuff or building Fobs. I dont want a game where one score is preffered against another, but a game where the squads "compete" to be the best. Wasnt that how ceaser did it with his officers, or was that the centurions? Cant remember. Anywho, its all about being part of something, you know this whole "My country can beat your country" thing, and i feel like im part of a bigger society. Well in that way, i want people to feel like, hey my squad pitched in there, we did alot of good, im part of thats squad. Instead of the good ol' IM THE BEST PLAYER ON THE SERVER WUHU!!!!!!!! So, i mean in no way disrespect about e-penises, mine is among the largest here, but thats cause i have big feet But, i hope you get what im going for. PR is all about the teamwork feeling, the gags and fun, the stress and the feeling of accomplisment when you have overcome an obstacle. Not individual glory. Isnt there a saying, when the harder you fight for it, the sweater the victory. Or something, well its something along those lines, and succsess shared, is succsess well spent. (Cant belive im using proverbs on this matter lol) So for those who still want to have individual scores, give me a really good reason for keeping it. I want squad scores. Another 10 bucks, in you face! |

Walking up to the kill spot and counting bodies and comparing to the possible number seen is always fun. When it comes to; you see six enemies and you confirm five down, that really makes it interesting. Did he walk away and bleed out? or did he walk away and is getting ready to frag the first person around the corner? that all is fun. Not "hey i got 2 kills" "I got 3 kills" "i got 1 kill, lets move on"
I voted to remove it, but squad based scoring shown at the end of the round would work too. |

Reason to keep it: Interesting to look at, makes you feel like your achieving something.
Reason to remove it: Wicca doesn´t like it. Seriously, you think that by removing it it will fix people, and people will suddenly work towards team goals? That just won´t happen. There is 0 relation to teamwork with it. What stops good players playing together by having it? We all know why you play the game, and most people are similar, I think there are very few "i wantz leet scores" people compared to what you are saying. Oh and, its not about people working in squads as you say, but about people working in a team. So equally, give a reason to remove it, other than this "its good for teamwork" that is used on every single suggestion down to the colour of the menu. Edit. The kills don´t need to be shown in the round if that element needs to be taken out, but at the end I say yes. I just don´t understand the its not how the game should be played argument. I, as a load of other people I expect, admit I do like to see loads of kills, I like to achieve good things, I play other BF2 mods that are very spammy. However I don´t play any of these for the kills, including PR, i play them because they can be fun, the kills or whatnot is just something there that makes you think "hey, I am doing well". It just doesn´t have anything to do with working in a team, especially since you can´t achieve these "leet kills" without working in a team anyway. Why do you think I love flying transport helis more than almost anything in game? Because I like to see a few numbers go up on screen? Or because I like to help people, transport them around the map and I like flying, the numbers just show that I am doing well. But I don´t get a helicopter and say to myself "right, get as many points as you can now cos the e-pene is awesum" |
