Thumbs up Goggles/NVG's feature

If you have played vBF2 SF (specail forces) then you would know about the Gas Mask and *Night Vision Goggles or the tecnical term for them (NVG's)
and have used them befor.

so why arnt there any Gas masks-(eye protection goggles) or NVG's in .85? or probible for v.9

there should be a few night maps with the US and China or Brits and China.

it would be more realistic to have them becuase when you look at the soilders player you would see that most of them have googles on their helmets, but why cant we use them?

so if there is a sand map like Al Basrah, Kashan Desert, ect ect. and there is sand that is sturd up from the moving vehicals then if we dont put on our goggles then we should get blured vision.
but to counter that we would then be able to have the goggle view.

NVG's are self-explanitory but might be constricted to specail kits.

Will there be a inballence with this new feature? well thats for the testers to find out.

STILL if you think this is a good idea please be sure to tell me about it

Already been in past versions, but night maps cause more problems than they fix unfortunately. To make a night map means making custom shaders for each map and the effects don't register in "night mode" So the ground doesn't light up. There are also extreme performance issues with night time maps as well.

In the future if there is tear gas put in then maybe, MAYBE there might be gas masks on the specialist kit. Only a possibility, but this stuff has been thought of before. Alot.

And don't crucify me for first post , I've played PR for over a year but havn't got around to posting on the PR forums :P

Basically, as described by several people, "NVGs" make a normal game but its a green screen. The bf2 has very limited NVG effect when you wear them. I made a map with NVG's, my testers said there was no flavor to it. and as Ryza said, there were maps such as Bi Ming which were night maps.

BUT
The gasmask idea is pretty smart. If we could use the supression effect, twist it so it effects your screen for a time limit, that would be amazing. But im pretty sure the US Army Doesnt Use teargas..or any other faction THAT I KNOW OF. Someone prove me wrong nicely if I am

thats totaly what I was thinking if we could twist the supression effect or the blury eyed vision from tear gas in specail forces then we have the eye protection idea in the bag.

but if we use blury eyed vision from (SF) into PR then what about the other people who dont have (SF) or could it just be implamented.

im glad some one agrees with me

In .5 (Correct me if that is not the right version) we had teargas & gas masks in Insurgency mode.

Well, just imagine how great room clearing would be with specialists busting the door down, teargas thrown through, gas mask put on and then moving through and either arresting the insurgents or shooting the ones with weapons in hand.

but this idea is more going toward the end of Eye Protection or ballistic goggles for traviling on a vehical with sand around them IE: .50cal gunner on a hmmvw being driven through the sand dunes of the game

if not wearing the protection his vision will become blured and not be able to hit his target effectivly.

i kinda like the gas mask idea, but the last nvg map was in 7.56, and i acctually tricked the e team becuase of it, they saw me and i dident shoot, so theyu figured i was on there team.
still, i thing they should mabey test gas-masks on one or to maps becuase, im not quite sure how it would work out trying to use gas masks..

its not just the mask. you need to change the gameplay abit so that there will be sand flying around or in small clouds in areas of the map made by "wind"
so this might be a problem.

the mask just helps to person who needs it

Teargas (CS) is used by US forces and most conventional military forces that I know of as a riot control agent in "operations other than war." I have not heard of it being used in a conventional conflict by any force since maybe Vietnam.
