just one question.. wth are the pistols?

before anything, I'M LOVING THE MOD. the issue below is just a bugging-me

i always thought (and still think) that every soldier on a war has a pistol on a compartment on its clothes! altogether with the knife.. i've seen it on movies, this kind of stuff
sooo i noticed that you guys took the pistol out of some kits.. why is that?

i love pistol, it always helps me a lot, i really liked AT having just a pistol, i like using it
but is disappointing playing as a medic, rifle ammo ends, and i'm just with the knife...

Realistically, not every soldier is issued a sidearm. And as far as the AT having only a pistol as their personal defense weapon, there is still some debate as to the accuracy of that.

If you are in a squad, you should have a support class and therefore you should not be without fresh ammo.

probaly because pistols like any weapon, cost money. if they have a assault rifle most will not need a pistol to go with it.

Who needd pistol?
1 - bunch of guys who don't use rifles and are not running on battlefield.. like higher officers and such...
2 - group which engages target on high range and must have something to defend in close quarters... like snipers..
3 - other guys carrying so heavy stuff that full range rifle or even shortened version would be too heavy or takeing too much space... look -> AT class
I personaly love sidearms but hey... it is all about reality right?

About the AT kit... Does anybody know if a light SMG will be issued to them in later versions? I'm not talking anything powerful, but at the moment the pistol really has its limits, and sometimes it's a pain picking the AT class, fighting off the tank then having to run around with a pistol. I don't know what real AT troops carry, but surely it's something bigger than a light pistol?
