Maybe increase the range of view/heal from straight 90 degrees to a range of anywhere in 80-90 degrees. Or maybe the fact it wasn't working is because I was an insurgent using a US corpsman kit. Go figure

The medic symbol doesnt always show up.
When you are prone you have to look straight up (90 degree angle), you cant heal crouched, standing look up or down (90 degree angles). |

I was trying to heal myself, so prone, looked down, and held the mouse button...I nearly bled out doing that....

for me, if i just look down to heal my self it does not work.
i have to basically "teabag" the ground for the medic bag to actually heal me. |
