The new roadblocks are great, BUT they have a big problem in that they cannot reliably block many gates etc in the same way that the old ones were able to.
It would be superb to have the old style razorwire (that can be driven through) returned IN ADDITION to the new ones, counting towards the 10 limit. With the incendiaries, infantry are now able to reliably destroy them, but the ability to block off small entrances, requiring the enemy to use noisy grenades to destroy them is a huge advantage. |

the new wire shouldn't be destructable with incendiaries either imo, should use demo if u ask me. That would make it a proper obstacle. Wirecutters etc would be the realistic option for just wire...but I don't think there is room in the kits for it, maybe on riflespecialist? For a quiet enterance...but might as well use the grapple if u bring him...

or wirecutters.
but then you have the issue of over complicating things. |

We've talked a bit about wire cutters, but at the end of the day there are used as denial weapons/objects.
Bring back razor that's drivable through wont happen, it was a mistake in the original that's now fixed. As far as placement I think it was the drop code that was changed. |

The main reasoning behind the return is the drop code. Would it be possible to return the old razor wire while making it more...resistant to vehicles? IRL a few strands of steel would probably entangle a light vehicle, but armour would just roll over it. Given the fossilised turd I doubt it's entirely possible, but can materials slow vehicles down when they pass through them (I'm thinking some sort of hack involving the water?).
A lot of work maybe, but you wouldn't put a road block over a small entrance if you're only concerned about infantry coming through, would you? |

its on the list as "could be better" but for now they are what they are.
As far as slowing down vehicles the engine isnt that great |

Maybe you could just have an option between the old razor and the new.

How about having the one roadblock model, but two options; Razor Wire (B) - New style, with the soil base and new drop system Razor Wire (S) - Same model, but without the soil base and with the old drop system

The problem, for me, with the new wire, is that it's nearly impossible to block a small hole, to stop infantry getting through. The wire will either not go down, or go down 5 feet away, possibly killing you in the process. The old wire was far from perfect, but at least it was good for infantry area denial.
The new wire is full swing. It can stop vehicles, but not usually infantry. |

No need to bump two threads about pretty much the same thing.
