Default Player identifiers removed from mini map

I was playing Harcore ArmA the other night and the you couldnt even tell where you where on the map. no indicators at all and thats the way it should be.

so this is my proposal or idea. not sure if this is hardcoded or not but. If PR is supposed to be base on real life the player indicators should be removed from the map. only the commander should be able to see where there team is. this would bring the need for the commander to the for front of the game. the cammander would need to relay locations of freindly troops to other squads as it happends in real life.

This has been suggested before maybe not from the arma point of view but I have seen a few suggestions on this I think it may come down to it being to frustrating and would lose some of the player base.

But arma is a very fun game.

Twisted Helix: Yep you were the one tester that was of ultimate value.

I agree. The more challenging the better.

yea, but shamely there's only 1 or 2 commanders per 20 rounds you play.

I wonder if its possible for the squad leaders to place markers on the map for the whole team to see? and I agree removing the players gps on the map would be great.

So how are you going to track down teamkillers if you have no idea where they are on the map and wtf they're doing?

well if there is some one in the commanders spot like there should be they would be able to tell who is doing the T'king.

and as it is most squads are to busy worrying about the other squads are doing and not concentraiting on what they need to accoplish.

If you get a commander, only seen 1 in the last 10 rounds played...

And if the commander IS the teamkiller, or supports them by giving false information, the admins still have a hard time doing their job.

i can see your points. but the simple fact at the moment is there is no reeal need for a commander. squad leaders can pretty much do what they need to without the approval of a COM, by raining back on the abilitys the S/L has as in 7.5, taking away the map player indicators would create a huge need for a commander. there Fore giving PR another layer of imersion taking that step closer to REALITY.

as for T'Kers they leave they get bored of the game as they are simple vanilla players trying it out.. being a commander would be to boring for them.

i would be happy to sit there and cammand my team throught nearly every round..
