Default Possible MEC helicopter add-on/ replacement

Hey there,

I've been searching on the Internet about helicopters and I ended up with the Super Puma/ Cougar. Several Middle Eastern countries uses them. I don't know whether the dev's want to replace the vanilla Mi 17, but if they are looking for a replacement, imho, the Super Puma/ Cougar would be a pretty good candidate. It can be armed with .50 cal machine guns seen here - 56k warning. Source 1 and source 2. I'm not sure which countries are supposed to be the MEC, but probably one or more is listed in the linked sources. I know replacing vBF2 models have low priority at the moment, but it wouldn't hurt posting, right? I've used the search button and it was named in one thread, but it was kinda ignored. For the people who will say it's an ugly helicopter; ask yourself, what's more ugly, a vanilla model or a new, high quality model? But seriously now, what do you people think of it?

Regards,

Monkey.

it looks cool but the mi-17 matches the mec arsenal in my oppinion you gona have to change every thing they have to their mbt to the apc. have a mix of western wepons i think it would be best when all the models are done for the apc tank trucks and all they should be introduced all together in one epic patch.

Well, replacing their MBT's and the rest of their arsenal isn't needed if they would receive a western heli. Remember that they're currently armed with German weapons, doesn't mean they should have German helmets etc etc.

well the russians got mec helmets in the game but thats because you cant change the ea models. but thats not the point imo if you are gona change the vehicles change all of them at once not one by one

Well, that's probably up to the dev's to decide that. But if they want to do it, they should at least have a close(r) look at the Cougar/ Super Puma. It would also add some more variation between the transport heli's.

The LB-equivalent of the MEC is the EuroCopter 635. The Super Puma is also manufactured by EC so it would actually make sense if it's used as the transport helicopter of the MEC. Variety is always a positive thing, and this will certainly add some of it to the game (since the Hip will be used by another faction).

Why must all their vehicles come from just one country? I would, for example, love to see the American M113 APC alongside the Russian BMP-3.

Agreed with the M113

Err, I remember someone posted a sort of list where he suggested having light and heavy transport choppers (Merlin-light/Chinook-heavy) whereas heavy has two crates and light has only one and is better armed.
I think he had this chopper in his list, there the Mi-17 would do good for a heavy transport alongside the lighter Super Puma. That would really be something I think devs should look into.

Any advice?

Ain't the Mi-8 and the Super Puma in the same "class"? IIRC they can both carry around 20 passangers or 3000-4000 kg.

regardless of whether the mi-17 shoudl be replaced or not, im sure the devs probably have it as extremely low priority.
