I do feel like adding at this point though:

0.8 did not cost us players. It was, by far, the most popular release the mod has had.

The average maximum number of players on PR is around 800-900 unique players. Each day. Right now.

That's around 66% of the maximum number of players ever recorded playing PR - which was shortly after 0.8 release. In short, you can estimate that around 2/3 of people who have played 0.8, enjoy it and continue to play even now.

Anyone like to hazard a guess at how much George Bush would pay to be leaving office next week on 66% approval ratings? I don't know how much either, but I'd imagine it'd be a great deal of cash

Xbot, I have to agree with most of your points. Don't get too offended by critical posts though, many of us are just overly defensive often over our precious pr .

But what you've listed has been under lots of discussion, and most of it is being fixed. The Sprint and Stamina changes can be found in this Dev journal, and I highly suggest you read it if only to get an idea of what's happening with it.

Most of these changes were made to provide a step closer to what the DEVs want pr to be, by testing new concepts with the community and striving to get the greatest gameplay that encourages teamwork possible. Of course, seeing as it was all new, most things came out badly, and were overlooked in testing for various reasons, either because of lack of time, or because they weren't apparent during testing as problematic for gameplay.

Thankfully, 0.85 is coming out, and while it is testing new gameplay mechanics (with APCs as main transport vehicles on some maps and improved logistics, http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f196...logistics.html), it will also be fixing most of the problems you've outlined. From your post it's apparent that you've dedicated your time to try and improve this mod for the better, and I thank you for it.

I've seen a few of these points mentioned before so yeah. And I could give a large post about it all, but I'll summerise,
1. Never had this problem, even in CQC conditions.
2. No adrenaline system and its getting changed anyway.
3. People hardly ever jump out of a moving vehicle, because you have to stop your self gain your balance and then move up to the vehicle to take cover. Sure the damage is annoying but just don't jump out.
4. Being changed anyway.
5. Not used the Marksman, but from what I saw they're working on it.
6. i. Your telling them to make more changes.
ii. Not seen any changes for the sake of changes so far.

And now I make the point that PR dosen't need a little boy like me defending it blah blah blah.
Read around a bit before moaning like this. And if you hate the mod so much, why not just play another game, it makes life easier for your because you woulden't have to spend time making that post, easier for other people since they wouldn't feel a need to reply to that post if it diddn't exist in the first place.

Thank you for reading.

Problem with the latest patch is that you've started thinking in "gameplay"-terms, ruining the immersive realistic experience that PR used to be all about. Let me explain what I mena...

When you're about to cross a road you're not thinking "I have to be careful in the open, I might get shot" but "have to think about not using all my stamina". How many times have you heard a squadmemeber say "wait up, guys, I'm out of stamina" since 0.8 was released? Things like that reallu ruins the atmosphere.
And the new bleeding system, same thing. You are to worrid about starting to bleed that you avoid jumping down heights of maybe 2 meters... In some cases it starts to feel like super mario or something similar "must not fall, must not fall!".
And how many times have you found yourself aiming on an enemy and counting to three before shooting? Do soldiers do that IRL? No, it feels very "gamey".

"Easier", yes, but what about the right to comment on things you dislike?
I love PR, but I hate these specific changes they made during the switch between 0.75 and 0.8. There have been versions before 0.8, you know, and people have a right to tell the devs and other members if they think something went wrong with the newer releases.

All these points make sense, and you highlighted alot of things that turn new guys away from PR. But it all takes a matter of getting used to, I think. All those changes you mentioned, bothered me. Now, I'm fine with them.

I found this very disrespectful and in bad taste.

I love 0.8 besides the marksmen kit everything was a step in the right direction yes even the deviation if you played more realistic you should not be crying about it.

thank you OP for thinking before posting.

Twisted Helix: Yep you were the one tester that was of ultimate value.

Masaq's comment on Dubya wasn't so distasteful imo, . On your reflection on the marksman, I have to disagree with you. I've missed stationary targets (.50 cal gunners) from under 50 feet after waiting a god few seconds simply because of their minimum deviation.

Masaq, keep your political views out of non-political threads. Consider this a warning. /sarcasm
