i disagree, ive played this mod enough to know my way around any map without a map. and im pretty sure most players would agree. but hes not suggesting removing the map anyways.

A compromise if possible would be reducing the radius of visible friendlies on the map around you.

Im pretty sure he means removing the map for squad members? (on foot)

To these ends, I was hoping to make it so that Squad leaders could have a topographical map as a "weapon" with which he could see objectives, but can't see any infantry. All of the squad members would have to rely on the SL, as they would not have the maps
And yes, ofcourse, all the maps that are out so far are easily to know your way around becuase youve played them millions of times with your map, but I can see problems with new maps... just my personal opinion though...

In case anyone is curious about the picture that appeared in this thread a few days ago or why I was banned for a little bit. A picture URL I posted in this thread had the source image changed to something quite inappropriate as a joke. So yeah I didn't actually post that picture I posted one that was originally different.

So without further ado...
This is what i originally posted ; )

Don't bring your pesky facts here. They just make everyone unhappy with one another.

But yeah....this is not the first thread on this topic. I don't feel like dredging up old suggestion threads, since its after 1 am for me, but there were discussions on this topic 2 years ago, when I first started on the forum.

Don't worry, the simple fact that this discussion has gone unresolved for so long makes me want to keep the thread open, so that others along the line can chip in their 2 cents or whatever in an older thread then having to create a new one anyways.

But on that same note, it might be interesting to have a beta of something simlar to this in the same sense that it was made for the removal of rallies, which had been another hot topic
