Default Replacing Flare by Disco Ball.

I dont know if that had been suggest, but its a cool idea. Some helicopter are equip whit the famous disco balls, so i think instead of having flare we should use the "jamming effects" of the disco ball. What I mean by "Jammin effect" is that instead of having flares that falls, the "Devs" could put a kind of invisible flares (alot of them look at disco ball...) around the chopper that regenerates every 5 seconds to avoid abuse ... But very effective as the real.

Helicopters that should have it ( if ever possible or considered )

Apache,
Huey,
Little Bird,
Black Hawk,
Merlin,

infact, all the NATO helicopter... i dont known if the Chinese, Russian or Middle East country use them, but every one in NATO does...

You're looking at a balance issue here though, don't forget. Make the US aircraft invulnerable to PR's missile systems, and maps like Muttrah City where the USMC have a Viper and the MEC have no aircraft cover could become very one-sided in the SAM emplacements and SA-7s are rendered largely ineffective...

I thought the topic was about replacing the infantry flare with a Disco Ball. Then I read the post

Rico11b: Better than that just take the body out of the game all together, and we'll have floating heads in game.

That's what they get for using inferior equipment!

Well, the mod is called Project Reality... and thats the system they use in real life. Realism > Gameplay, cause we can manage our gameplay to fit whit the realism, on map where theire is only helicopter, like Muttrah City, give Anti Air Gun station ( like in 0.6 ) as a deployable static to MEC, in order to maintain "balance". On a map like Kashan i think the D.B. would dramaticly inscrease the gameplay cause the helicopter ( in the 32/64 version ) are the easiest target you can ever have whit a Tonguska, so if it least they are "missiles protected" ( wich "recharge" every 5 or 10 seconds ) only if the pilot press the "Flares" button, they will got a chance to make they're way away from the AAV and drop they're soldier.

After all, its not our fault if some country a dramatically
militarily more advanced than other.

And not ALL aircraft are equip whit Disco ball... only helicopter's are equiped whit or "very" slow aircraft...

Planes have this type of thing also I think, including flares, chaff and a load of other stuff. But even then I don´t think you are completely "missile protected".

It really depends on what's being used against you and its guidance system. I know those vents they put on the Hinds to push the hot air into the rotor were enough to render some types of shoulder-fired AA weapons useless.
