In urban or forest environments you will not able to see the smoke. A marker on the map is visible and for longer times. Plus placing attack marker and using the commo rose for contact report takes just as long as the grenadier loading his smoke grenade.
This is a good example of why a CO can be helpfull in directing squads to attack a single target and yet people want a way to avoid needing a CO so other people stepping up to the CO position can complain that SLs do not communicate with the CO. I have nothing against the coloured smoke, but I just don't see the need for it as I have plenty of other working methods. |

i reckon it should be blue or orange/red smoke for signaling CAS strikes. thats about all it would be useful for, other wise there will be patches of coloured smoke all around the joint

Most people dont even use smoke for Landing zone... I doubt they would for that.

I like the idea. I could see this as a great tool in maps such as Op Barracuda.

Be a good distraction too!
*Soldier walks out of corner, sees smoke "OOOOO PURPLE SMOKE!!!" *gets turkey'd by a Hellfire/bomb/rocket/place-explosive-weaponry-here. Sure that could happen with a hand thrown nade, but with the GL, longer ranges and SAFER ranges are possible. I really like the idea, good way to make the grenadier kit colorful! |

I like it too, maybe we could add a flare to the grenade kit too?
Like, a distress flare, or a warning flare, something! |
