Default Delayed Intel

I had a look through the suggestion section for something like this and was unsuccessful. If I missed it then lock it and post a link for me please.

I've heard a few player's saying that one of the issues with the insurgency mode is that the insurgents can't get to some caches soon enough to defend them after they are made available to the collation forces.

My small suggestion to to give a small delay (say 5 mins) after receiving the required Intel to give the insurgents to get somewhat of a defense up on a cache before it is given a marker on the map. It would work something like this:

COLLATION FORCES

1. Enough Intel received, message is displayed for Collation Forces

"We are working on a lead on a possible cache location, stand by for further orders"

2. After a predetermined time (5 mins for now), another message is displayed.

"We have received confirmed Intel on a approximate cache location, move out an destroy it!"

3. Normal marker is displayed on the map when the previous message appears

INSURGENTS

1. Collation Forces receive enough Intel for a cache to appear.

"We have reason to believe the infidels have information on one of our caches, get there and secure it!"

2. After the predetermined time (5 mins for now), another message is displayed. The cache about to become visible on the map will turn a different colour (maybe flashing red or something, to be discussed)

"Our suspicions of leaked information have been confirmed, prepare for oncoming assault!"

3. Regular map marker becomes displayed.

This would just allow the insurgent a bit more time to prepare instead of basically giving the cache to the collation forces before a decent defense can reach the area.

Thanks guys.

What would you recommend as a suitable delay time? I was thinking something like a minute and a half, but lets hear your opinions.

OK I'll edit in 5 minutes delay for now into the main post. It can be discussed in full in this thread and changed as problems and opinion come up.

Thanks again for the support.

This delay is already in the gamemode in v0.8. The insurgents get the information that the coalition will have knowledge of a weapons cache 1 min before the coalition does. I increased that delay to 3 min just yesterday but it may change.

That's not everything that affects it, though. Right now because of the only 3 caches active at a time system, the coalition keeps gathering intel even if all caches are revealed and the moment a cache is destroyed another one is revealed giving you only 1 min to know it's there. For v0.85 we intend to stop gathering intel if all 3 caches are revealed and only continue when a new cache is active. This gives time to the insurgents to avoid enemy contact and go towards the new cache's position even before it's revealed by intelligence.
